Beautifully crafted. Malla Duncan has a poetic voice that captures you from the beginning. A story of intrigue and suspense with unique and colourful characters that keep you interested right to the very end. I highly recommend this novel.

4 and a half Stars. This is the second novel by Malla Duncan that I've read, and it didn't disappoint. A tale of suspense, intrigue and murder, the novel is also outrageously funny. Malla's genius use of description and wit makes the story flow effortlessly. There is also an underlining theme of food and body-image that Malla explores to perfection. Her portrayal of characters, setting and events cannot be faulted. I look forward to reading more work by this author.

An intricately woven vampire tale that keeps you wanting more. The historical and scientific content was unique and engrossing. I particularly liked the way the author separated each character's story in the beginning and then tied them all together. An enjoyable read.
