When did you first start writing?
Writing was something that I loved to do as a kid, in school, and so I did extra bits of writing at home.
I found one story I'd written when I was ten-ish, I had a big loopy "f" I seemed very pleased with, but every off had only one "f"!
I've been writing every since because it's the only thing I can do which puts the energy I feel into a product that I can be pleased with.
What's the story behind your latest book?
You'll have to read it and see.
I was watching a lot of westerns during writing it, so that has some influence, like classic westerns, not Spaghetti westerns.
But I don't guess that you'd notice the western influence without me pointing it out, so don't tell other readers!
Really though "Peilis" and "Ruta" are kind of born out of the same thing, my experiences with teaching and my worries about it.
Although neither of them are biographical, and the opinions of the protagonists are not my own.
I'm taking great pains to make sure the next things I do are drastically different.
