Smashwords Interview

What's the story behind your latest book?
As a writer you draw on many life experiences as well as your creative imagination as inspiration for your work. Sing is no exception. It draws on (but is not based upon) ideas surrounding the experiences of my brother's friend who, earlier in life, did not speak for some time following the sudden loss of his father. My aunt was a teacher at his school and it was she who helped him find his voice again. She was herself a successful musician/vocal coach and harpist. The friend later found success as a professional tenor. I recall my own mother telling me about this. The idea stayed with me and developed throughout my journalistic career and the rest, as they say, is fiction.
