What's the story behind your latest book?
After 20 years as a recruiter I found that many people that I interviewed were not happy with the work they had been doing for many years and were not satisfied with just getting one meaningless job after another. After the internet took hold it became more difficult to stay competitive and make choices of jobs and careers. There was information overload in choosing a career. People that wanted to choose, change or enhance their careers needed help. About ten years ago, I started using my recruiting experience to put together a coaching process to help people with their careers. Using the concept of "inside out versus outside in" and wanting to reach a larger population I wrote this book.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
When my book was finished, I researched ways to get it published. Traditional publishing was out of the question as it is too onerous and depends too much on the opinion of the publisher who does not have the knowledge or experience to accept or reject the value of the book. By chance, I met a woman in Starbucks who is a published author and she suggested contacting Smashwords to publish an ebook.
