- A Job From Hell (Ancient Legends)
on Aug. 24, 2011
Firstly, I have to confess, I am not into vampire books:) Having said that, I am glad I bought the ebook. My main intention is to read it when I am traveling but I finished it before my big trip:) I couldn't put the book down. All the characters are great: the main or secondary ones. Aidan and Amber are superb. And Cass is a hoot:) The devil's daughter that wants to be an ambassador:) I dislike her at first but in the end, I like her a lot:) The plot is full of twists and mysteries, keeping me on my toes:) Well done, Jayde.

Very well written! I am glad that a man wrote this book because sometimes I wonder if men have thoughts about their feelings for someone like women do:) Also, I actually stopped reading and googled Shadow Folks/People when you first mentioned in your book:) and they are real... Believe it or not, I've seen one or two before... And always wondered what they are and while reading your book, my 'eyes' are open. Thank you again. I look forward to reading your next book:) Well done!

A good mystery, A good plot, A good mystery, A good ending, In All: A Good Everything! Awesome read and that twist in the end.... Totally unexpecting it and very much love it:) Well Done!
- Beelzebub Girl (Ancient Legends)

Cass is my favorite character in Book 1: Job From Hell. So, when I read Book 2: Doomed and found out that Cass is the main character, I was very excited:) I have to admit it has been a few months since I last read Job From Hell, so when Dallas’s name first came up, I was like, “Who is this guy?” After reading a few pages, I went, “Oh yeah, I remember him now.”:) Then, I was wondering how the ‘relationship’ between Cass and Dallas was when they first laid eyes on each other in Book 1. I couldn’t quite remember. So, I have to go back to Book 1 soon:)
Anyway, Hell is a very interesting place:) I was curious about it and Jadye Scott did a good job in describing the place. And yes, I can see it being compared to Disneyland:) with all the weird things going on in the world of make believe:)One character that gets on my nerve though is Amber;) But she did a great job on the ‘set’:) Out of all the Devil’s sister, my favorite would be Patricia. She is the most original I think:) I feel so sorry for her that she can’t leave the house. Poor lady almost got strangled to death by Dallas… Love the Rasputin, by the way:)
All in all, a good ear. And of course, it’s all because of Jayde Scott is an awesome writer! Well done!

- Voodoo Kiss (Ancient Legends)
on Nov. 03, 2011
After reading Doomed, I couldn't wait to read Voodoo Kiss, I want to 'see' how Cass gets Dallas back. This book doesn't disappointed me for sure but the 'process' of getting Dallas back went a little too fast:) I am glad, however, that Dallas is back and Cass is bubbly again:)
About Thrain and Sofia, I thought Thrain likes Cass before... Of course, Cass wasn't his soul mate:) Again, the 'feelings' between Thrain and Sofia went a little bit too fast for me. But I guess, when one finds one's soul mate, they'll feel the bond and there is such a thing as love at first sight! Yes, I believe:) I am a sucker for such things:)
In All, Voodoo Kiss is intriguing and full of mystery. Full of twists and turns. Never could have guessed about Gael. I suspected he was a bad HUMAN, not a half-Shadow:) Well done, Jayde! Now, looking forward to the next book:)

- To Kill or Not to Kill
on Nov. 10, 2011
Just like the first book "Value of Life", this is a fast paced reading. The theme of the books are similar being that the main character portrays himself as a bad guy when in fact, he is the good guy. You have to read these books to get my meaning:) To Kill Or Not To Kill is still filled with twists and turns of its own. I really thought Bentworth is a bad cop. I was sad though with the ending...
In all, a good read! Well done.
- Black Wood (A Witch Rising)
on Nov. 26, 2011
Witches, trolls, nymphs and Silverfurs .... How can I ever resist that? I love fantasy story like this. Keep the imagination going. Ravencourt manor is a catchy name. The first thing that came to mind was something interesting is going to happen here.I wasn't disappointed.
Emily Jones is like any teenage girl full of spirit and curiosity. The magical diary given by her neighbor Aurelie made her very happy. Everything she wrote in the diary came true like her brother appeared before her and wishing for her parents back together.
Then, there's the ancient magic mirror. What I don't understand was why did Clifford (Aurelie's nephew) mention the mirror to her, asking her to open the portal to Black Wood? Did he know that it leads to something really bad? When Emily didn't cover the miror, her life changed forever... not sure if it was for the better or worse. For now, it seems to lean more on the worse side. Muriel appeared in her attic and took over her family. She turned her brother into a troll at night.
Emily with the help of Aurelie learned a few spells. She had to find Muriel's heart and destroy it to keep her family together. To do that, she had to enter Black Wood through the mirror. Armed with only a few magical phrases, she gathered her courage and ventured into an unknown world fulled of mysterious creatures. That 'spidery' creature reminded of me of the spider in Harry Potter. Then, it took me by surprise. It was not a spider, but something totally scary!
Emily managed to get out of Black Wood but she didn't find Muriel's heart. In the end, somewhere, somehow, something happened in Black Wood because the strange creatures entered our mortal world...
Well done, Jayde Scott. Looking forward to the next adventure!
- The Samson Effect: A Novel
on Dec. 15, 2011
I am a big fan of mystery and Samson Effect is up there on my list. When I start reading this book, I have hard time putting it down. It's a page turner and keeps me guessing to the very end.
It started with the search for Samson Effect or also known as the Lord's Strength (an ancient seed/plant that gives one supherhuman strength) by two good friends Michael Sieff and Thomas Hamilton. The search is also being pursued by Azim the Palestinian leader to start a jihad and the Protector of the Lord's Strength Rabbi Judas and his Council.
It is a wild cat and mouse chase and the ending is totally unexpected. I somehow wished Thomas would have given the last seed to the Rabbi...
Grab a copy and be ready for an adventurous ride.

A very cute story. Absolutely love the pictures. Brought back memories about the cats my family had when I was little. Well done.
