Jen Teachenor

Biography

In the fall of 2014, Jen Teachenor released her debut novel, "Beautiful Life," and began a several city book tour of colleges, bookstores, Carnegie libraries, historical landmarks and festivals throughout the US. This fictional story follows the life of Anna Mitchell as she realizes one choice can alter a destiny and the fate of those around her. The novel was preceded by the release of the official book trailer directed by Teachenor and produced by Monster Pictures.

The day it was released, "Beautiful Life," became an Amazon Best-Seller, in both formats, paperback and Kindle, and Teachenor was listed as one of “11 Independent Authors to Watch in 2014.” Jen has exploded onto the scene with her Contemporary Fiction blend of love and tragedy along with her descriptive style of writing that paints such a vivid picture, it feels more like you're watching the story than reading it.

Raised in the quaint, historic town of Piggott, Arkansas, where Ernest Hemingway resided and penned his classic novel, "A Farewell To Arms,” Teachenor fell in love with literature at an early age. Drawing inspiration from this picturesque southern farming community located at the top of the rich Mississippi Delta, Jen began regularly writing poetry and short stories throughout high school. She was awarded a full scholarship to Oakland City University where she continued in her love of writing. After graduating with honors, Jen moved to Nashville, Tennessee, and married her high school sweetheart, Multi-Platinum singer/songwriter, Jamie Teachenor. She began a teaching career and quickly excelled as an educator. She was awarded the "National Outstanding American Teacher Award" for 2005-2006 and has also been recognized by the "Autism Society Of Middle Tennessee" for her impact on the lives of students with Autism. Although Jen loves to teach, she resigned in 2011 to better focus on her first love of writing.

Teachenor has frequently gained work as a freelance writer, penning press releases and bios for many well-known bands, artist managers, CEO's and solo artists. Her works have also been published in many magazines and websites including: MTV.com, The Nashville Scene, Patch, Tradebit, VH1.com, Miss Teen America Magazine, CMT.com, GreatIndieMusic.com and many other popular blogs and newspapers.

Since the release of "Beautiful Life", Teachenor has regularly been featured in newspapers, writer blogs, radio and television and is already working on her second novel, "Strange Bird", which will be released in late 2015/early 2016.

The Singing Typewriter calls "Beautiful Life", "well written" and this 400+ page novel is often listed as a top new release. It is available in paperback and digitally everywhere books are sold and Teachenor is recording an audiobook to be released in early 2015. Great things are expected from this classically, modern novelist-author.
