Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
When I was in elementary school, the first book I consciously remember seeking out is "The Boxcar Children". Once I got through the first one I flew through the rest of the series. It's still one of my fondest memories and I've been trying to encourage my kids to read them. Unfortunately, I think I'm still a bigger fan than they are. But that was when I first discovered how much I love a good story and from that point on I always had a book in my hand.
How do you approach cover design?
I'm not a designer myself. I seriously lack visual artistic ability. My talent begins and ends with creating my stories. I tend to seek out others for my designs who have great artistic talent and can convert my story into the proper picture.
