Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
The unfinished masterpiece...
So shortly after Christmas when I was 11, my parents bought us a computer. Keep in mind this was 1991, so a family owning a computer was a big deal. After going through every tutorial for Microsoft Works, I needed an outlet for all this knowledge of how to use these programs (not to mention we had zero games for this machine). I sat down and started putting random words on the page.
It was crap. I can't believe I even kept writing it, but I had my fun with it. It led to me having more patience to sit and write, and to come up with ideas that, while maybe not the greatest, were at least something original.
How do you approach cover design?
Whatever the basic idea of the story/book is, I try to come up with something to go along with it. Sounds simple, but there are some books that look like they have the most random clip art for their cover.
