Emma Holly has done it again! My only complaint is that the book was too short. I want a sequel soon please. Emma Holly writes sizzling hot romance. With Hidden Talents we are introduced to Resurrection, NY America’s only supernatural friendly town and its werewolf police force. The characters were believable even if their world is different than ours. Action, adventure, romance what more could you want except more.

The Lear Sisters Trilogy by Julia London Material Girl, Beauty Queen, and Miss Fortune. Material Girl – Oldest sister Robin is a high powered V.P. at daddy’s company a job she is ill prepared for and frankly sucks at. Meet Jake a guy from the wrong side of the tracks trying to make it as a contractor while studying architecture. Beauty Queen – Middle sister former Miss Texas, Rebecca, is newly divorced from her childhood sweetheart with a small child who cries for his nanny. Meet man whore Matt the lawyer with a heart. Miss Fortune – Sweet, quirky, baby sister Rachel professional student and self-saboteur. Meet Flynn investigator for Lloyds of London. I really liked the fact that I could relate to all three sisters. I wasn’t sure I would because I mean “poor little rich girl” times three. But even rich girls have daddy issues. All three girls could be someone you’ve met. Pushy over achiever Rachel, underestimated good looker Rebecca, and Rachel with a heart of gold who lets everyone walk over her because she never feels good enough. Warning somehow Jake’s nephew Cole from Material Girl turns into his son in the next two books.

Hidden Depths by Emma Holly The fae have created a pocket between our world and theirs where magic can exist. We were introduced to part of that pocket in Hidden Talents where we met the hunky werewolves of the Resurrection Police Dept. (Whom I hope we shall revisit sometime soon please). In Hidden Depths we meet the were-seals of Oceana. The king is dead long live the king. The new King Anso of Oceana is hit hard with the mating heat and takes his lover Ty and two guards to search for his mate. Much to his dismay he finds her making love to her husband on the beach. The mating heat is on him and he can’t not take her so he takes her husband too to make her kidnapping easier on her. There is a chain reaction of chemical and physical attraction between the new king, his lover Ty, James and Olivia Forster. It seems the mating heat affects them all. Trying to deal with it and its ramifications while trying to shore up his political standing among those who seek to use or remove the new king makes for a great read. I don’t know how Emma Holly does it but I hope she keeps on doing it. This is a smoking HOT read and a great story. Warning: scorching mm, mf, & mmmf sex under the seas.
  • Secret Santa on Oct. 27, 2011

Secret Santa by Kristine Cheney This was a short story I picked up because of the authors self-promotion. I don’t think I would have bought it otherwise. Secret Santa is the story of Holly Gordon who loves Christmas and playing Secret Santa for some of the folks around town. It is in this capacity that Holly meets Marcus Jenner. Who makes Scrooge look like a softy. The reason I don’t usually get books like this is because they have an unfortunate tendency to be either too saccharine or too maudlin. I must commend Ms. Cheney as this story while being sweet and sentimental never crossed the line.

Move Me by Emma Holly Another absolutely delightful, sexy and sweet story set in her Hidden Series. Belle returns to Kingaken because her Uncle has left her his house. She hasn’t been back since her brother Danny disappeared. While there she meets an incredibly sexy handyman and reunites with some old friends. This story has fabulous fairy sex, fairy luck and a holiday HEA. I absolutely loved this.

Lace and Lassos by Cheyenne McCray This is about starting over and redemption mixed in with a whole lot of cowboy loving. Wayne Cameron and Kaitlyn Barrett grew up together and fell in love. Wayne developed a drinking problem that put Kaitlyn in a position where she had to leave him. Years have passed and Kaitlyn moves back home after getting out of an emotionally abusive marriage and upon inheriting her father’s ranch. Wayne is now sober and has never stopped loving Kaitlyn. When they meet again they have to work together to save her ranch and rebuild the love and trust they had shared. Sweet and sexy

Dark Seduction (Altered States) by Cheyenne McCray Cheyenne McCray does good PNR. This is no exception. Tori meets and falls for Logan, fast. Then her boss informs her that Logan is a bad guy and she must go under cover and retrieve info on the top-secret project he is working on. This looks like the first in a series. I hope so.

Sweet ménage. Pediatric nurse Megan takes the day off to go to the ball field to get an autograph for a sick little boy. He didn’t bother to tell her that Jeff “The Terminator” Holder was smokin’ hot and a twin. She waits with all the other anxious kids to get her autograph and when she does its accompanied by an invitation to dine. She can’t give that to the sick little boy so she meets with Jeff to give him a piece of her mind and get another autograph for the little boy. Jeff is intrigued by the passionate nurse and makes it right. He goes one better when he and his twin Jason (also a ballplayer) show up at the hospital the next day and visit with the sick kids. Megan works too hard and hasn’t had much time for a social life. Jeff does it for her. The twins are fascinated that Megan can always tell them apart. They proposition her with joining them both in bed and she figures it is better that way than doing without so she goes for it and the sex is fabulous. They guys push for long term and then things get sticky. Jealousy and lack of communication abound before the HEA. m/f/m
