Sally Faust

Biography

My name is Sally Faust, and I am the Founder and Director of QuickCraft.

I began QuickCraft in 2004 after I first laid eyes on a new world of multimedia technology that was just emerging. As a child care professional and mother, I was inspired by the new learning opportunities presented by technology. For many years I have been working with young children. Knowing firsthand how busy the Child Care industry is as well as parenting, I set out to create resources specifically for this market.

I began creating a set of resources which were easily accessible and ready to go. Templates, activity sheets and ideas for users to simply load and print ready to use each day. It was with this vision; I created my first set of QuickCraft resources, launched my site and began this journey.

All the activities on every cd are inspired by my knowledge and experience in the child care industry. Having completed my Diploma in childcare and over 20 years experience I used everything I had observed over the years to create my resources.

As the implementation of new ideas and learning strategies develops in the industry, I work on new ideas to follow suit and keep my activities relevant and current. I am currently completing my Advanced Diploma in Children’s Services. I keep myself up to date with the changing needs of the industry. I have been following the new ELYF system and have already started implementing ideas and strategies into my programs.

QuickCraft resources are updated as I discover new ideas and have new inspiration for activities. I also plan to launch new products in the future and these will include- Multi-Cultural activities, Farm Animals and Parents at work. In the long term I will be releasing many new themed activity cd’s.

QuickCraft Resources offer the early learning field- Hundreds of printable templates for children to make and create. Each activity cd also includes- teacher parent resources, short stories, craft activities and recipes and poems written specifically for the QuickCraft range by award winning Australian Poet Elaine Colgrave. Each cd also touches on basic math and literacy, letter-sound and alphabet recognition as well as catering for the important emergent reading skills.

We continue to receive a tremendous amount of interest from schools, day-care centers and youth centers as well as parents/carers and the private sector. We have featured in several popular Australian magazines. We have relationships with Family Day Care Australia, many large software stores as well as reaching the overseas and huge online market.

Our goals for the future are to continue producing high quality activities, new exciting activity ideas suitable for all young children.
