Biography
Scorpio R.T. Paul is a new and upcoming author of urban fantasy books for both adults and teens.
Originally from a small town on the Oregon Coast, she now lives in Portland, Oregon with her husband, two children, a vicious hamster and a mentally challenged chihuahua where she works on her books full-time.
At the tender age of 13 she knew she was destined to become a writer and started her first book. In a fit of frustration and writers’ block, she decided it wasn’t good enough and burnt it so that no one could ever witness her “failure”.
Later in life, she considered a few different career paths. After years in banking, she received a bachelor of science degree in Business Administration, studied Project Management while working for the world’s largest computer chip company and considered becoming a patent attorney at one point in her career. After years of dreaming up stories in her head and playing them out to her satisfaction; she decided writing really was her true passion. She finally started documenting her stories after the birth of her second child.
Signing up for a community writing class changed the path she was on and took what were once ‘ideas’ she had put on paper and guarded fiercely from prying eyes, to actual full blown stories with live characters. You can catch RT having conversations with her characters when she is alone in a room with them.
An enthusiast all of genres, R.T. Paul has always had a particular fascination with the classics as well as science fiction, mystery and fantasy. Urban Fantasy was introduced to her in 2005 and she hasn’t looked back.
When she isn’t reading or writing, she enjoys playing with her small children, traveling, trying new cocktails with her gang of girlfriends, and shopping.
