We read this aloud together, but my daughter loved it so much, when we finished she wanted to read it herself. We love this book, and the sequel!

Where Lions Roar at Night, the first in Rosie Boom’s Barn Chronicles series, is a literary masterpiece. I thoroughly enjoyed every page and found the book very hard to put aside once I began reading. It is a book full of family, adventure, fun and values lovingly woven together to create a heart-warming story which both young and old alike will cherish and enjoy for years to come.

Rosie has captured the essence of an exciting and rich family life, in beautiful New Zealand. It is comparable to the Little House on the Prairie series. A lovely family read that will keep young adventurers, boy and girl, riveted to the page. We have read them aloud and as the children grew older, they have read them for themselves. Highly recommended.

The perfect book to read with your kids snuggled up by a roaring fire and drinking hot chocolates but works just as well in summer with ice cream in the shade of a tree. Not only will you enjoy the delightful Boom family and their adventures you will be inspired to have your own family adventures as well!

We have enjoyed this fabulous story as our family read aloud book. I was most relieved when Rosie's second book was released. We have read each FIVE times as the children love the stories so much.

SUCH an awesome book! My son got it and I devoured it - staying up late into the night because it was so riveting! Then we read it aloud to the kids, and now my son reads it (over and over again!) Definitely highly recommended - (also love her 2nd book, Where Arrows Fly - and we can't wait for the third instalment!)
