Reviews of Uprising

The Citizens of Haven have finally realized their dream; separation. They have ascended. A new layer has been placed upon the city, sealing anyone they deem unfit down below. In the dark slums beneath the city, something has been set in motion that will usher in a change. Something that will rattle the city of Haven to its core and forever alter the lives of everyone within.

Haven This book to was a real page turner - although it was very bloody and graphic the author has a great imagination and I am glad to be able to take that journey with him and the rest of the crew from Old Haven.

Fabulous! I was pleasantly surprised with how long this book is - so many of the free ebooks can be read within an hour. I really like the alternate universe Kemppainen has created, and can't wait to read more about it. I agree that the ending wasn't what I wanted necessarily, but I had already read on his website that he is planning on writing another book, so I assumed that things wouldn't be all wrapped up in the end.

The way the numerous storylines are woven together is excellent, and the character development is masterful. I didn't figure out the ending halfway into the story, which was really nice. It was hard to tell what side some of the characters were on, even until the end, and it had me guessing about what would happen throughout the story.

Best value! A free science fiction adventure with depth. Excellent writing with great characters that are intertwined beautifully. You will enjoy this book and hope the author will write a sequel.

Great read, held my interest to the end. Not a great fan of that type of ending but was still well worth the read.

I'm not a big sci fi reader but this sounded interesting. Glad I took the chance, the book was excellent and really held my interest. Loved the Malcolm character and never expected the end to play out like it did. I look forward to more from this author!

Outstanding! Only at the beginning of the story and already wishing for more books by Justin Kemppainen! Very hard to put down and hoping there are more stories coming.

I found the book very interesting and it was good. The only fault I could find (and this might just be me) is it wasn't very detailed on what caused the slide of civilization, it was vague. And wasn't very detailed in how the Citizens implemented the separation. They obviously built above to separate themselves but how they accomplished this was very vague. Besides these two things I found the book very good and entertaining.

this book was great. It had a great plot and it kept you interested in the characters, especially Malcolm. I hope there will be a sequel.

I downloaded Haven because it was free, and I was low on money for Kindle books. Having read it, I wish I could have bought it. It's well worth standard retail for a book. The story moves at a perfect pace, the characters are believable and wonderful, and the plot...man, it's good. I'm craving more! The world Justin Kemppainen has created begs for more stories set there, even if they aren't directly related to this one. I would love pre- and post- Haven books.

LOVED it. Excellent style, beautifully written, immersive, loveable characters and just a damn good story.
It seems like it's been done before ... elite versus peasants. But the way Justin created the world these characters live in is amazing.
You'll enjoy it even if you're NOT a sci-fi-lover.
