What is EFT?
EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Techniques, sometimes called 'that tapping thing'. It works in a similar way to acupressure or acupuncture, except you use your fingers to lightly tap on certain parts of the face and body, and there are no needles involved whatsoever.
It is often called 'an emotional version of acupuncture but without the needles'
How does EFT (tapping) work?
Our body is electrical by nature, machines in hospitals register this with ECG's etc.. When we feel a negative emotion our body's electrical circuit goes 'out of balance', tapping sends tiny electrical impulses through the body to put it back in balance.
So by thinking about and focusing on the negative feeling and tapping on the points at the same time, as instructed, the negative feelings will go away and be replaced by a natural state of acceptance.
EFT is one of the few things you really do not have to believe in for it to work.
