Biography

Q. Zayne often appears on top 100 author lists. Q. minored in Classical Archaeology and has an MFA in Creative Writing from SFSU. After teaching at the university, working as an editor, and freelancing, the author embarked on a wild digital publishing adventure. Describe your desk

I miss having a desk. One of the challenges of long-term traveling is having to make-shift workspace. It's rare to find an actual desk or even a table that's a suitable height at inexpensive apartments and hotels. Right now I use a patio table borrowed from the landlord when I'm at the studio, and I do a lot of my work at cafes.

Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?

I grew up on an old ranch near the coast in California. The rural setting, local lore, and trips to ghost towns inspired a fascination with wildlife, indigenous cultures, the supernatural, and history. All of these elements continue to inspire my writing.
