Evening by Evening: Daily Devotional Readings
on March 18, 2021
This has become one of my favorite parts of the evenings- reading the devotional. Each day is quite varied from the previous, but all of them are short reflections on passages, with teachings that have withstood the test of time.
Dragon's Kiss
on Sep. 13, 2021
I don't know if it's physically possible to be that sexy, but I love it in a book. A steamy connotation of dragon behavior in this "love-conquers-all" story.
The Sidewalk - A Sweetly Romantic Contemporary Short Story
on March 30, 2022
Although there are still a few questions remaining at the end, about the motives of the one damaging the drawings, the turn-around of changing one's assumptions and talking through misunderstandings is a sweet lesson. It's a very inspiring short read.
The Nine-Inch Difference
on March 30, 2022
My favorite (to date) of Cleo Peitsche's books. Watching the leading male struggle with himself is entertaining.
A Rose in the Desert
on Sep. 12, 2022
The book abounds with unexpected dangers from a very complex world that he built. It's definitely worth reading.
Silk Scarves and Seduction
on Oct. 03, 2022
When you're daydreaming about the guy you like, this is a great book to read. And if you're not, it's still a fun romance where the woman uses her skills to go after the man she wants.
Bound Temptations: Stories of Temptation and Submission
on Oct. 03, 2022
BDSM in real, consenting context, between adults who do have a life as well as sexy playtime. Both of them are good books, but Beg Me is my preferred one by a small margin.
Finding Their Omega
on June 25, 2023
Cliff-hanger ending alert. Admittedly, my first reaction on reaching the end was thinking, "Ooh, wait until the heroes show up! Oh, wait, THAT'S The End??" Even better, it's actually "Finding Their Beta," a curvy, mature woman who has a full life not merely centered on the guys!
Dirty Dom
on June 25, 2023
A guy wants to fulfill her most important fantasy over 24 hrs - which they have communicated clearly. And it then turns into a long-term relationship! A great short-story!
Alien Lord's Captive
on June 25, 2023
No cliffhanger here, the first of standalone romances happily unites a career-woman who shows bravery in the face of danger, eventually persuading her warrior lord that not ALL communication has to be conflict, and realizing the value of combat in his culture.
Synnr's Saint
on June 25, 2023
Not a cliffhanger, thankfully. And slavery isn't a sensationalized erotic tool. Instead, the hero is striving to abolish slavery, and in doing so, meets a girl who is valiantly coping with her situation by adapting gymnastic skills. But they're in enemy territory and outnumbered! An enjoyable sci-fi action-romance
Anthony Knight: Oath of Service
on Aug. 28, 2023
A slightly slow start, a few - very few - typos between words that sound the same, but a very, very fascinating story!
Zylonn's Human Bride (Tarrkuan Masters, Book One)
on Sep. 14, 2023
This book is maybe best for more pragmatic, logical personalities. An "Alien+Bride Treaty" arranged marriage with a touch of Domestic Discipline, their romance develops realistically as they get better acquainted and learning to listen to each other. And no typos!
Abduction 2140
on Sep. 14, 2023
This short story is best for people with active imaginations to fill in between the lines. Although not posted as such, the book is a prequel to Hakon Drogon Prince. ( https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/1096543 ) It does spend more time hinting at the stories instead of trying to tell the stories - Genetic manipulation on Earth, a nerdy hot scientist woman, a strong CEO female, a desperate mission, a dragon-shifter prince, and later the wooing as the women get better acquainted with their mates. It is a "Fated Mated" plotline, where all they have to do to fall irrevocably in love is to get in the same room. My favorite aspect is that it doesn't romanticize slavery.
Consider it a writing prompt more than an escape. Potential writers, enjoy! (But, admittedly, don't emulate this book. There is a reason it's been poorly reviewed.)
Warrior's Bond: An Alien Warrior Sci Fi Romance
on Sep. 14, 2023
A "Second-Chance Romance," this Alien Romance strongly includes respect in the relationship. However, there's quite a bit of prejudice in the story, which some people might find triggering, or highly relatable. A very good story.
Warlord Sky
on Sep. 14, 2023
The first line of the blurb is a little misleading. The plotline is about a Chamele pilot recovering from a wreck and learning that there were greater things than flying and discovering a bias in his culture that had resulted in dreadful cruelty to a select few. Not only does he have to recover, and win her very reluctant heart, they have to start improving their culture. Very relatable in our day and age.
Vados
on Sep. 14, 2023
A "Fated, Mated" romance reunited for a second chance with her mer-man in this short story. An enjoyable read with an intelligent, principled, strong female lead.
The Warlord's Prize: Dread Lord's Fated Mate: A Sci Fi Alien Warrior Romance (Khuldun Warriors Book 1)
on Sep. 14, 2023
(no rating)
Prequel to a book that's not available on Smashwords, there is no romantic happy ending. It's a romance centered around a strong, independent princess in a culture that does not want to allow her to be independent. Against all odds, with a bit of help, she fights for her freedom.
Tiger's Gambit
on Sep. 14, 2023
From a post-apocalyptic Earth, a struggling, stubborn surviving shifter eventually decides to try the alien+bride trade. She learns much more about herself, and proves that at times the prince rescues the damsel, but also sometimes she rescues herself. A very good read!
The Vampire Prince
on Dec. 20, 2023
A Vampire romance where the vampire prince desires her intensely, but will fight even his own desires to respect her wishes, too.
Blood Harem
on Dec. 21, 2023
This vampire romance touches, as a tangent, on the concept of "What leads to TRUE love?" It also introduces an origin story for the Russian vampires. The story is fairly well developed, with a "happily-ever-after" but still room for the other books in the series.
Invite Me In
on Dec. 21, 2023
A short story about a vampire and a shy succubus. Except for a short paragraph, it's written from the point of view of the succubus, allowing you to feel as overwhelmed as she did.
The Emotionally Engaging Character
on March 15, 2024
This is one of the books about writing that I come back to again and again. I'm familiar with her romance novels as well, and know that she really knows what she's talking about.
