Well written and good story. But, I wish there were just a bit more world-building details. There was quite a bit that was implied, but my preference would have been to have more of it spelled out. Well worth reading though! If there’s a sequel I will buy it.

Great story. Many of R Cooper’s short stories seem too short. How could there be enough information, enough world building and character building in so short a space? And yet there is enough for a wonderful story.

Wow. Just wow. In some romance books the main characters are fairly well defined but they mostly seem to exist in context of their relationship with each other. Somehow, R Cooper manages to create this incredible, complex relationship between characters who are bound together in ways that don’t become clear until the end…. Yet each of them has their own existence. So much is wonderful in this book. Big elements and small details.

Really, really excellent. Well written, absorbing, pacing was great. When it ended my reaction was “aww, it’s over already?” Not because the author left anything undone but because I was enjoying my time in the world she created. Adding Desmerelda to my favorite authors.

One of the most beautiful tellings of a beautiful and damaged soul that I’ve ever read. I also appreciate that there’s no contrived dramas to create false angst for resolution. Just the real angst that can enveloped those who’ve been hurt. I also really like the illustrations of how much pain can be caused unintentionally. Just because one didn’t intend to hurt another does not in any way diminish the pain and damage, no matter how unintentional.

This is fiction with a lot of explicit sex, not a short erotica story with maybe a whisper of plot. Three men all seriously screwed up in different ways. Well written but it did drag a little in places. But I kept reading because it held my interest enough to want to find out how it ended. In some books that makes me jump to the end and I skip the last third or even half the book, only going back if there’s something in the ending that I don’t understand. This wasn’t one of those. The characters were sufficiently complex that I kept reading it. Overall an interesting read.

Extremely impressed by this book and grateful the author offered it for free; I might not have read it otherwise. I’ve now bought the series and am looking forward to spending more time with these characters. Extremely well written. Family of choice is an amazing thing. The political backdrop is fun to read about and the evolution of the main characters and their relationship held my interest throughout.

Some of the stories are good - plot, heat, writing quality. But some are in serious need of editing. Mostly issues with things happening out of order (like clothing coming off after nudity). But also some segments where the phrasing becomes purple prose. There are also at least two scenes that must have been written with a man and woman, and were poorly rewritten to be two men.

Extremely good book. Great and fun story. The writing style is a but unusual but it did not detract from the story at all. Well developed characters. At first I thought some of the characters were going to be caricatures- but their over-the-top-ness wound up being very natural for them. Strongly recommend.
