What's the story behind your latest book?
Him & Her is hard to explain without giving too much away. Yes, it's an interracial romance, but I believe it to be just a romance novel. The hero and heroine deal with many of the same challenges all relationships do. There is an added layer that brings Michael and Denise together that has nothing to with race, and is the foundation for their love. This is the focal point of the book and it will likely make you cry! I cried writing it. Happy reading!!
What are you working on next?
My current project is darker than anything I've written before. It's not dark in the erotic sense, but it's graphic. What I will say about the nature of the graphic content is that its all real. Each scenario is pulled from my current career as a social worker in a large city. You get a glimpse of social work as both the hero and heroine are social workers in the child welfare system. The book addresses how our early life informs the field of work we chose. It also explores how mental health issues don't go away until they're dealt with--no matter how hard one tries to power through it.
Our hero pulls our heroine out a funk. Can she pull him out of a mental health hole way deeper than she ever imagined existed?
