Jan McInnis

Biography

Hi there. . .I am a comedian, comedy writer and keynote speaker who specializes in comedy shows and humor keynotes for corporate and association events. I have been doing this over 20 years. Not only do I write and perform all around the country, but I am an established comedy writer who has sold material to just about everyone on the planet - from Jay Lenos Tonight Show monologue to greeting cards, syndicated cartoon strips, millions of radio stations and even guests on the Jerry Springer show (my parents are proud!). As such, I have written 2 books. . one on how ANYONE can write humor - called Finding the Funny Fast and the other one on being a comedian Convention Comedian.

Smashwords Interview

What are you working on next?
I'm working on telling stories of my comedy travels. . .there are a lot of weird experiences out there! And of course my comedy writing blog is what i write on weekly!
Why did you write this book on humor writing?
I wrote this book because I was being asked all the time "how do you come up with this comedy material so quickly?" I kinda got tired of answering that question, so I put the answer in an easy-to-read book, and I sell it cheaply! I also want people to start using humor more. . there's no mystery about it. I don't expect people to be a comedian. . .that's not what this book is for (though you can certainly use the tips to help your act). I want people to stop being boring!
