Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I’m a sixth-generation Floridian and cowgirl from a long-time ranching family. I grew up in Fruitville, just outside of Sarasota, where I was involved in everything from cotillion to showing steers in the county fair. The Redneck Debutante Series is about Rachael Harte, a cotillion socialite turned cowgirl. She finds herself transplanted to rural Florida, facing a family scandal, and falling in love. Teenage angst combined with family saga and romance. I chose to write about Florida, cowboys, and cowgirls because I’ve lived and loved these experiences. Now, I enjoy sharing those same adventures with my readers. I’m a Redneck Debutante... A little bit city, a little bit country!
What is your writing process?
If something comes to mind and I like it- I sit down and start another novel. Usually, I write the first paragraph and hook- the rest just falls into place.
