Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up just outside of the city of Trenton. The city was densely populated and very diverse while the township was still mostly farmlands. I was more attracted to the city and found as I got older I appreciated the diversity and uniqueness that Trenton had to offer.
When did you first start writing?
This is my third round of writing. I wrote when I was very young, then got busy with my kids and forgot about writing. I picked the habit back up in my early thirties but again stopped this time because of my work demands. Recently when I quit smoking I found I again started to write. The big difference is technology has now given me a platform to share my writing. The shame is.. I had a lot of great work when I was younger but no longer can remember or replicate them. My new work is simplistic but I think it still has a place. Anyhow, since I have no intention of smoking again, perhaps this time it will stick and I will continue to write without another long hiatus.
