Larry S Gray

Biography

Larry S. Gray is a student of life who loves to tell a good tale. Born and raised in Trenton, New Jersey, he now resides on the central east coast of Florida, with his family. He is an avid reader who enjoys rock music, baseball, beaching and exploring. His material is interesting, compelling, thought-provoking and, at times, just downright weird. His subject material includes mind-control and religion, time travel and ghosts, with a little humor sprinkled in for good measure. He is hard at work on several new projects, yet more interesting tales that will keep you up late into the night and disturbed well into the morning.

"The Cydronium Chronicles" concerns failed experiments in the field of mind control, with a bit of humor tucked in amid the mayhem. "Spirit of Sussex" is an old English ghost story, plain and simple. "The Armageddon Project" is a non-fiction work co-written with his cousin; a haunting and harrowing tale of childhoods spent in the grip of a tightly controlled religious organization. The old phrase "truth is stranger than fiction" certainly applies here. "Timespan - the Vet" is an eerie account of time travel seen from a different angle and puts forth the hypothesis that time can actually be flexible, a mental concept of startling proportions. "The Secret of Meat" was written for young minds; a tale of exploration and discovery. A young rabbit and a young mouse set out on an unsanctioned journey to a city of humans, where they discover a ghastly secret that shatters the illusion of their happy little world.

In the upcoming projects, we have the darkly humorous "Palm Castle," which will be available to readers in 2014. The insanely haunting "Parallel Worlds, Perpendicular Dreams" is due in 2015. And the extensive epic apocalyptic thriller "And in the End - 2034" will be ready for readers in 2017.

Smashwords Interview

Describe your desk
About as cluttered as my mind. Inspiring. Depressing. Uplifting. Annoying. Where it all happens!
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up In suburban Trenton, New Jersey, and I enjoyed reading quite a bit. There were some conflicts with the kind of material I liked to read and the kind of material my folks expected me to read. When my rebel flag unfurled it became no accident I would write the kind of genres I was forbidden to read. Except for one, my cousin Mike's and my non-fiction "Armageddon Project," which is a harrowing and disturbing account of both our childhoods and why we were forbidden from reading certain things, and forbidden from doing and being many countless other things. Back to where I grew up; you will see a lot of my storylines take place in and around New Jersey. I like to be accurate with location and keep things geographically correct, so for any locations in any story its a given that I have physically been to and spent some time in that location..
