Biography

I remember a young boy of six saying he could fly like Superman. He said if Superman can do it so can he. Whatever happened to that little boy that little boy that was me?
By Randy Giles

I was born and raised in the South Bronx, New York a stone throw distance from the old Yankee Stadium. I have been writing since I can remember. I always enjoyed telling stories and have been doing so since first grade when I wrote my very first one.

As an adult I worked for a HVAC wholesaler and retail company as their Computer Systems Administrator. I supervised the computer departments for their three branches located in New York City and State.

I have studied martial arts from the age of 11 and have earned black belts in five different martial arts styles and my students and have performed demonstrations on Johnathan Burke’s Martial Arts Forum on HBO as well as Westchester Cable. Due to my martial arts training I have been head bouncer (head of security) at various clubs in New York for both hip hop and Latin Music. I have also body guard or were personal security for the rock band Van Halen in the early 80’s.

My students and I have performed for the Dance Theatre of Harlem at their open houses and various cultural functions. I was also an extra for the Dance Theatre of Harlem’s ballet Sherherazade and performed with them in the City Center and Kennedy Center where I had the privilege to shake President Ronald Reagan and the first lady’s hand.

Various topics interest me, but I love action/suspense/drama and romance as Ian Fleming is one of my favorite authors. I feel that people love to get away from their everyday lives and go to a place that is rarely, seldom shared called the imagination.

When the Eagle Flies with the Dove is my very first novel which is now entitled NEX FORMA, which I wrote in 1985 and copyrighted in 1990 I am hoping is one of those stories that will take your mind away from the day to day where you find it difficult to put the book down. And once it’s over I’m hoping that you wish that it didn’t end.

I have also written a book of short stories (Flash Fiction) as it called due to he stories being 250 to a 1000 words in length. The stories encompass various genres, hence the title "Flash Fiction Menagerie". In Flash Fiction Menagerie you will discover stories for just about everyone, from, fantasy, romance, mystery, drama, suspence, spooky, comedy, sci-fi and more. Flash Fiction Menagerie also includes a story entitled “GLIMPSE” which is an homage to one of my favorite writers and television show hosts Rod Serling and introduces my first comic book hero HARD TARGET and his origin.

Please keep an eye out for more of my books as I am currently revising others that I have written or currently writing.

  • Operation: Mistletoe on Sep. 14, 2012

I just got finished reading Operation Mistletoe and from the very beginning it had me cracking up laughing out loud with tears running down my face. The book is absolutely hysterical and a work of per geneous. I haven't laughed this hard since I saw the episode of Frasier season 5 when they meet Roz's boyfriend's big nose parents. Greg Jackson truly did an excellent job in writing an extremely funny adult holiday book. This is a must read!!!
  • Woke (Stand up Listen and Open Your Heart and Minds) on May 05, 2022

In reading William Harris’ book entitled WOKE (Stand up Listen Open Your Heart and Minds), it made me see things more clearly regarding how deeply programed the people of the earth are. The history in which he shares made me realized the path in which the world of today is headed totally unbeknownst to them. All the past Civilizations have all befallen the same fate and we are going to be next if we don’t, as Harris says it; “get our heads out of our asses.” One of the many points Harris made was that Money is not real. He quoted Genesis, and GOD, created the heavens and the earth, etc. etc., and he created man and gave man dominion over the creatures of the earth etc., etc., and GOD said it was good. But GOD never said anything about man having dominion over man and he never said anything about having to pay rent or pay for electricity, water, not even food. GOD never mentioned money?! I asked that question because, if money was an important factor to our existence, I do believe that God would have mentioned it in the beginning in Genesis don’t you think? In reading this, Harris’ statement really blew my mind, because I always felt money was wrong and did not belong. But Harris’ words, got me to think, so I did what he did, I had to investigate and do my own research. So, I went to Master Google’, as one of my martial arts students calls it, and I asked the question; “is money real?” This is the first thing I found and it reads as follows; Money is just a concept we have invented to help us to distribute real wealth. Currency only works if we agree on the system and play by the economic rules that create it. Real wealth is created when we build something, grow something, mine something or assemble something.” So, the key words are Money is just a concept that we invented. And of course, I already knew this as most of you. But why would we invent money after GOD, gave us all that we need and he said it was good? Are you trying to say that we were so selfish that we could not work together and share like the Amish? Here’s another one I found; “Money has no intrinsic value, only relative value. Its worth is measured by the ability to exchange it for something of value to the owner. In this light, the man who has no money and no wants is in the same position as one who has all the money in the world but cannot buy what he wants.” In this statement I find the word intrinsic interesting as it means belonging naturally, essential. And the statement is saying; “Money has no intrinsic value.” I ask you, if money has not real value why on GOD’s green earth would mankind need it unless to have power over others? I did not see GOD mention economy anywhere in Genesis, have you? However, in William Harris’ book he touches on many topics and placed them together like pieces to a puzzle, which leads right up to present time. Harris books definitely shows us where we are headed and it doesn’t look good. I just hope more people read his book. I know there are some questionable observations Harris has made, but as far as the past civilizations he is not wrong as they all follow somewhat of the same design, the governments and money which led to war played a part in it which led to the civilizations demised. And here we are, another war. Russia’s war with the Ukraine. If history has taught us anything, war is not the answer. Check his book out, you owe yourself that much and share your thoughts. Like Harris says, we all need to do this together.
