Biography

A fourth generation Floridian, the great grandson of homesteaders, Capt. Phil Thompson is an outdoor writer and author of “97 Miles South – Key West to Cuba.”
A former Key West fish and dive guide, Phil has traveled to Cuba extensively beginning in the early nineties.
Phil has published numerous articles highlighting life in Cuba while exploring the island’s more remote fishing and dive sites. His stories and articles have appeared in the Huffington post, USA Today, and is a frequent contributor to several outdoor magazines.
Capt. Phil spends time between Tampa, Key West and Cuba.
