Cyn Bagley spent much of her formative years moving around the Western states with her family. She continued this travel obsession by joining the US Navy, and seeing the world: Japan, Panama, and Germany. She was diagnosed with Wegener's Granulomatosis, a Vasculitis disease, in 2003, giving her more time to write. She now lives in Northern Nevada and is an aunt to all the Chihuahuas in her area.
Be the Monkey - Ebooks and Self-Publishing: A Dialog Between Authors Barry Eisler and Joe Konrath
on April 25, 2011
I have been a faithful consumer of Konrath's blog "A Newbies Guide to Publishing" for a few years. So when I had a chance to read some more advice by Konrath, I grabbed the opportunity.
This ebook contains the best advice yet for new, struggling, and even established writers, which is self-pub on digital publishers.
These are the same arguments that finally convinced me to look for "Smashwords" (I don't have the time to convince the gateway keepers due to my illness, I don't have the temperament to cater to an editor, and the books I liked have taken a long time to get to the books stores.) I supported people like LKH and Simon Greene long before they became popular.
So even though there seemed to be beer involved with writing this interview, it was very concise and clear. It made my arguments and added a few more, which I have been spouting off to my husband.
And not only is this ebook full of personal knowledge from successful authors, it is also a fun read.
From Negril, With Love
on April 28, 2011
This short story touched upon women's little sadnesses: marriage, sex, birth, death, and divorce. It explores how these disappointments can hurt a relationship. But, even at the end, there is hope that a newly singled woman can find love.
The reason I gave it four stars instead of five is because it is a little rough in places. However, I would read this story again more slowly. There is a lot of truth here.
Daddy, Then
on April 28, 2011
This poem is so powerful. When the poem starts with a little girl holding her daddy's hand, I had a flashback to my childhood when I went every where with my daddy. I also used to sit on the toilet and watch my dad shave his face. It was an honor and a privilege to watch this routine.
These following words:
An aging rift remains undefined unlike muscular arms
Catching your horse shit from reluctant distance.
--hit me pretty hard. I am also watching my father age. We haven't talked in almost two decades. And as I see him gray and age, he seems to be farther away from me spiritually, mentally, and emotionally.
And the last stanzas summed up the entire poem. Bye daddy.

The Smoke That Doesn't Bark: A Poker Boy Story
on Aug. 14, 2012
Just wanted to say that I have a very soft spot for dogs so when Poker Boy's job is to save all the dogs, I was hooked. The characters were fun, the descriptions were great, and I enjoyed the resolution. I will read more.
On Top of the Dead
on Aug. 14, 2012
Very outstanding story. What would you do if you were the last person on earth? It was a believable story and also hopeful. I enjoyed it very much.
Don't Rust On Me Now
on Aug. 14, 2012
I really enjoyed the two androids and the love connection. It was a fun read. The bonus story-- very well written. I have to say w/o giving the plot away that I really had a problem with Tani's real form. I would have been gibberish too.
Hand and Space: A Captain Brian Saber story
on Aug. 15, 2012
This was a fun story. I wish sometimes that your law of space travel was true. I would like to be twenty to thirty years younger with my brain today. ;-) Enjoyed.
The Songs of Memory: A Jukebox Story
on Aug. 16, 2012
I am seeing a pattern in your stories of old/young dichotomy. Very good story. I will go back to read it.
Geek Romance: Stories of Love Amidst the Oddballs
on Sep. 16, 2012
I liked "Charming Way" so much that I went looking for the novel. It was a lot of fun. Also I had a lot of fun with the scoundrels in the last two stories.
Daddy is an Undertaker: A Poker Boy story.
on Sep. 16, 2012
Another wonderful story by Dean Wesley White about the Poker boy. The Undertaker's daughter thinks she will die at midnight. There is a wonderful twist to this story.
A Golden Dream: A Jukebox Story
on Sep. 18, 2012
Once again Dean has a wonderful story about a jukebox and how the past can be remembered... Anyone who enjoys stories written for middle-aged readers will like what he has written.
He Could Have Coped with Dragons: A Jukebox Story
on Sep. 19, 2012
Another fun jukebox story-- this time the character almost makes the decision too late. Its a toss-up whether I like jukebox stories or poker boy stories better.
Last Car For This Time
on Sep. 21, 2012
Very well written story about the West (great descriptions) and time travel. It had an unexpected twist.
Luck Be A Lady: A Poker Boy story
on Sep. 25, 2012
Really-- if you have read the Poker Boy stories than all I need to say is here is another one. A wonderful read.
Cold Comfort
on Sep. 26, 2012
Really enjoyed this sci-fi story. It is written well about a man in space and his last moments (or are they?) Anyway, it is written well, and I felt like I was there in space.
For the Balance of a Heart: A Poker Boy Story
on Sep. 27, 2012
When I realized that this was another Poker Boy story, I thought "oh goody" and hunkered in for a roaring good story.
Playing in the Street
on Oct. 19, 2012
A very well-written story that made me cry. Sometimes there are consequences.
