I agree with most of the others.. I enjoyed reading, but it would of been nice to know the history of the characters. I think this would be an excellent preface for a whole entire novel. I think it is wasted as a short story...

Good, enjoyable short story. Didn't capture my emotions that much and draw me in, but Ms Zane's writing and plot were great so looking forward to reading other stuff of hers.
