• The Power of Todd (How I Became a Teenage Super-hero) on July 21, 2021
  
  I picked this up during the July sale. The dialogue and character interactions remind me of the MCU movies, which isn't a bad thing, those movies are popular for a reason. I found the story interesting and I love some of the creative super powers used by people like Thicket, Goop and Stopwatch and after hearing about 'Battetoad' I'm really hoping the kids meet him later in the series...

  Good and consistent writing style, solid dialog, interesting plot with an impressive twist concerning one of the secondary characters as well as growth of the main and secondary protagonists. Overall it's a well crafted second book, and the dream sequence deserves a sequel.

  Woof, that's a lotta story to digest even though it didn't feel all that long when I was reading it. It was nice to see the kids face off against others like themselves and it's a toss up between Riverman and Babble as to how is my new favorite minor character. I loved the way her power expressed itself and how his magic works, very creative. Seeing Stevie's arc come (at least seemingly) to an end was nice too.

  What does a teenage hero do after saving the world from a power stealing juggernaut? He goes and saves another one of course! This was a fine follow-up to the last book in the Todd series (Toddiverse?) and tied up some dangling plotlines that needed to be dealt with. I found it a good read, but now I really want the character to run into a chaos engine...
