Biography

So glad you popped in! To celebrate signing my second novel, Finding Mia, with Pelican / Harbourlight, I'm offering my first novel as a freebie. If you enjoy it, drop me a line - I love hearing which bits my readers enjoyed most.

I write from my hometown, East London (the South African version) where I live with my husband and 3 daughters. Freelance writing has paid some of the bills for the last decade, but fiction is my true passion. I'm kept from getting lost in the adventures inside my head by the fact that I have hungry people in the house that gaze at me expectantly around mealtimes. Most odd really.

Tears in the Sun is a painful read in its accuracy of what the families of those suffering with borderline personality disorder live with. It is invaluable in the insight it provides. I think it will give courage to anyone who reads it, firstly to know that what they are living with isn't the norm and secondly to get, and trust, professional help. Owenby has spun a modern day parable tackling a real issue facing our generation. Highly recommended reading.
