How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
It’s Sept. 15, 2014 and it has been over a year since I first published What Lucy Wants - ebook 1 of the Absolutely Lucy Trilogy on Smashwords. I released it for free so my family, friends, and anyone else who was interested could read it. I never imagined that it would get so many downloads. Nor, did I imagine that I’d release the rest of the trilogy, plus write a short, spin-off (Fannah Housenhouser) and start a new mini-series (Macy Willow).
This has been such a positive experience. Before becoming an indie author, I was struggling to write on a regular basis and finish my books. (I have a very large plastic tub filled with unfinished books.) Now, I write most days even if it’s only for a short time. I still have a ways to go and lots to learn, but this has been amazing.
What do your fans mean to you?
Everything. It’s the supportive readers' reviews, likes, downloads, and adding me as a favorite author that has motivated me to write and publish more ebooks.
