Ian W Taylor

Ian Taylor was born and raised in Melbourne, Australia. He enjoyed an extensive professional career as an international trade negotiator and as an Australian Trade Commissioner, living and working in many parts of the world. He has drawn on this experience and his love of the Australian outback to write his first novel.

Ian now lives back in Melbourne with his wife Cheryl. He has two adult children and two grand-daughters. When he is not writing he is keeping his body fit by exercising (e.g. hiking, cycling, swimming, playing tennis) and his mind active by studying current affairs and international politics. He enjoys travelling both overseas and in the Australian outback where he found much material for this novel.

Smashwords Interview

What motivated you to become an indie author?
I love books and have been an avid reader all my life. I have always wanted to write a novel but never before had the time to do it. The ideas for this book have been fermenting in my mind for a long time and I figured it was time to write them down. I have travelled widely in a career in international business, have met some fascinating characters and been to amazing places. These experiences have planted the seeds for this story.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I like to keep fit physically by exercising everyday e.g. walking, swimming, hiking, playing tennis etc. I travel a lot with my wife, have twice circumnavigated Australia in our 4WD, where I have conducted background research and experienced the outback for my novel. I also love spending time in tropical Northern Australia and travelling overseas.
