Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up at Eshowe in rural areas and later moved to Madadeni in Newcastle which is the township. Both these places made a very big positive impact in my life in terms of writing. In both places, my teachers were encouraging us to be creative at our best when writing compositions and impromptu speeches. That built the skill to think fast and come up with ideas, enabled me to have skill in conveying my feelings, emotions, opinions, and any form of communication.
When did you first start writing?
I started writing while I was in high school but it was those articles and poems about current situations which occurred around me. I used to write specifically about issues related to education, social welfare, and human relations.
