An Unexpected Welcome

A welcome Romance This is a very hot and steamy romance. Cord is someone to get used to, as he's rugged around the edges, but very sexy and sultry. He comes back to town and tries to pick up where he left off with Lilly, and things heat up from there. I liked this story and continuously rooted for Cord, who needs people on his side. Hestand has found a fan in this reader, and I enjoy each of her stories, as western romance is something because of her stories, that I have found I like. Nothing like a timeless romance.

Devil's Canyon: Spanish Gold (Book One)

Good read. I enjoyed this book, especially the characters and their connection to each other. It's a great story, with a grand twist that keeps the reader's attention. It seemed to start out a little slow, but it was adventurous. The boys in the story have a fun connection, filled with bickering and dialogue you'd hear from many young boys and their friends. It's a gripping tale and all in all, good read.

He discusses relationships and how things can breakdown. He writes well, and writes about his own thoughts and opinions on different topics. It is interesting and something that is well worth the read. From love, to adulthood, to being African American, to racism, he discusses it. "We look in history and find that we don’t matter because the true contribution that we have made to this country is hidden and downplayed."

Life is meant to live, not to sleep through, and this story will tug at your heart and make you look at your own life.

Interesting resource If you're a writer (or want to be) and are interested in sci-fi or fantasy, this book can give some ideas or even writing prompts. It also resembles an encyclopedia of information and can help with character development, story development or even additions to a current story. It's not the book you just sit down and read (unless you're reading to write a review, as I am), but it's a good resource and tool for any writer, even if you're writing a different genre. Whether it's a long novel, or short story, this book can be helpful. It is filled with information, and some maybe things you never even heard of, or the answers to questions you never asked but always wanted to.

Asia-literacy and Global Competence

Interesting premise The premise of the book is good, but there are some flaws to what I think the author was trying to accomplish. However, it is well written, and gives a lot of details, such as the background of the Asian culture, and different aspects of Asian life. I learned a lot by reading it, but I think some of the book felt a little "too commercial" and seemed like it was an advertisement that was trying to recruit a specific culture. It's a good detailed read, though.

Snobbity Snowman

Fun read Snobbity Snowman is whimsical and fun, and this is a great read for younger children, and something to read to very young children. The pictures and the text tell the story of Snobbity, and open up to other characters, which are also fun and interesting. Snobbity loses the family who made him, and slowly realizes he is alone, and there is no one else to providing his rich, carrot nose. After losing everything, things change for Snobbity. It's a great story that has a wonderful moral for children, without being preachy.

A Dark Journey Into The Light

A man's personal journey It's more than just about a sexual addiction, but that's the journey that this man takes. He needs to deal with his own demons and discover who he is. At times this story is disturbing, but it is also provocative and explorative. It's one of those books you won't forget, you may want to read it over again. It is very well written and I applaud the author for writing this. This entered the world of BDSM (which can be judged harshly by those not in the lifestyle) and the author had some ideas that didn't necessarily coincide with my own personal views, but the story is his and he wrote it. Wonderful.

Good collection It's a collection of stories written by Miller. They all had a similar tone but were well written, and it was a nice collection for her to share. The stories lend to the reader's emotions going up and down. It was well worth the read.

Great book of activities It's a great book for kids of all ages, especially to do with the entire family. The book has space themed brain teasers, puzzles and other fun games and it is a gem for kids to do something fun and learn also. A book worth the buy just to give the kids something other than video games to play and occupy their time.

Intense It takes a minute, but only that to grab the reader and entice it. But it does. It's raw and gritty and takes the reader to a place that may not be so accessible. Living in a world that only sees violence, corruption and poverty, Leone wants to do the right thing. The reader sees the backstory and how it reflects and affects the present, which gives a enough of an understanding. The characters are created with depth but there is a lot of different perspectives. It works well for the story in some cases, and in other cases it gets lost. It's a great read, and even if you're not sure if the story is something you'd like, you can't put it down until the end, which is unpredictable and fitting for the story.

compelling and gripping Barr certainly can tell a good story, and she created this magical fantasy that is a clean, and fulfilling story. The characters have depth, and the base of the story shows different sides to women, and their place in this time period. Ah, yes, the age where men stood tall with sexy women at their side, more for status and as a prize than anything else. The story is filled with sorcery and magic, and the line between good and evil. A grand adventurous story!

Solving societies problems The author writes well and lends solutions for solving some of society's major and challenging problems. Some of the problems are solvable, if implemented properly and some suggestions for solving has merit. The problems outline range from crime to customer service, to terrorist and weight management. Not all problems are life or death, and some have more of an opinion rather than something that can be initiated, but the book is well put together, and a very interesting read.

Wow! I couldn't believe that this is the author's first story, as his work is well written and well developed. I love the premise of the story, a dominatrix who is falsely accused of murder. This book is a definite wow! A very powerful and controlling personality in the story, Angela is in for the fight of her life. She's not your typical Dominatrix or even leading lady character, but she is powerful and dramatic. I love her internal dialogue as she tries to keep from breaking down and giving in. It's a remarkable story and a definite must read.

Thought-provoking This is a stunning book written, telling stories of his youth, LeMaire shares the details of World War II. He shares his memories and thoughts of his youth, and how he as a child perceived the war. The writing is well done and you can feel the emotions jump off the page as he relives his youth. Horrors were happening around him, but his parents tried to shelter him as much as possible. He grew up mostly unaware of the terrors of the Nazis and their destruction. A very vibrant recall and a great read. LeMaire, thanks for sharing your stories, your memories.

Interesting Collection This was a real interesting collection of short stories. I enjoyed each one, and I liked how where one story ended another began. Miller is a very talented storyteller, and she writes extremely well. There is a natural talent that tells each of these couples stories, and how each character is deep and the writing shows a great insight to each of the characters and their actions.

Wonderfully open and honest Definitely not for the faint of heart or anyone under 18, or those who blush as the slightest mention of sex and intercourse. This is a wonderful collection of intense and flavorful erotica. It's artful and provocative, and unworldly intense. I enjoy Casteel's openness and connection to lifestyle and sexual gratification written with poetry and beautifully worded prose.

Nothing is as average as it seems, and it brings the story in on this delicious trail of secrets. Secrets. Yes, this family is full of them, and even the darkest secret is brought to light. I like this story, as it's not just about the drive for survival and to be loved, but not being forgotten. A need to be needed, is just the beginning. Very well put together, and I look forward for more work from Graham.

Powerful I was made aware of this author on the Writer's Edge with McKensie Stewart's radio show. I am so honored that the author request that I read this title. I read the preceding book, Let It Simmer: Making Project, Portfolio and Program Management Practices Stick in a Skeptical Organization, so I was definitely impressed with Brown and his knowledge. He knows what he's talking about and he's able to express it in his work. Business is his business, and this book is well written, and clear. One thing about business is that communication is key, and this book is very clearly written, and easy to understand, and better yet, implement. Great resource for any business person.

The Illumination Query

A journey of sorts I enjoyed going on this journey, following along with the records of Nigel's notebook. It's a well written story that brings the reader right along. Ronald is not the typical zookeeper, and its his narrative, and he is a very interesting character. I thought of how he perceives colors, and how he writes "Yes, I realize that the majority of people don’t hear in color, but that feeling doesn’t mean I’m crazy, I don’t believe. There is even a word that someone else came up with to describe the phenomenon- synesthesia, so I know it’s not just me." And this is just the beginning. I enjoyed the story and I enjoyed reading it, which are two different things, but almost the same thing as well.

Good foundation for fantasy The concept of this story was good, and the story was enjoyable. To me, it's a cross between sci-fi slash fantasy and horror. It had a long build-up but it was well written. It felt like it had a lot of different things that were going on, maybe a little too much. Firesmith writes a good story, and there were probably several going on within this one. It was a good read, very thrilling at times.

Extremely Dark yet inviting This is a great collection of dark fairy tales. The two sisters bring something unique and sinister to the tales we grew up with as children. From "Oh, Red, Look How Big You’ve Grown" to "The Perfect Princess", and everything in between. It's a glimpse into the dark mind of how the fairy tales could truly come about. The similar theme to these stories is not just the darkness but how dark fairies dictate the story. Each story is sinister and very well written. I enjoyed reading each of the stories.

One thing leads to another ... It's a short, erotic story that brings together a man and his hairdresser. The story is told in first person, and it seems that all of his thoughts are shared, just not sure all are relevant that leads to his next encounter. It does give a little backstory, but for a short, it's not necessary to everything. However, it does lead in one direction, to him getting a hair cut, well much more than a haircut. Not all the conversation or even dialogue was believable, but it was a short but sweet erotica.

Exciting and interesting read I enjoyed reading Beckerman's work. At first, you think the title "VIRUS" is your typical end of the world or some kind of apocalypse story, but this story is anything but typical. Well, VIRUS is a renegade dangerous cell. That's all I am giving away, but the story will keep you on the edge of your seat. Filled with adventurous twists and turns, and entrance into the realm of science fiction, this story keeps the reader turning the pages, with unpredictability at each turn. A very exciting read, indeed. I will definitely read more of Beckerman's work.

Good and unique read I found that Bollywood Invasion was a truly unique and interesting read. I'm not sure if it's time-travel or some type of incarnation that allows the main character "John/Raj" transform into a new body, back in time. There are some great Beatle's references, but it isn't what I thought it would be. With that said, the story was unique and interesting, and I enjoyed it. Some parts of the story didn't flow well, or were a bit confusing, but I looked at this story as something very new, and I did enjoy it.

Good story Mkwawa pens a good book in Isidora: The Life, Mind and Memories of An African Phoenix. It's a book that tells a story, but brings the reader into shared experiences. I see a balance of living life, and having faith. This is also inspiring as the author takes a journey out into the world. There are challenges and obstacles, with this little thing call life. I look forward to reading more by this author.

Good read Dimri writes about health and happiness in Dream Home Dream life. It seems to be a book that is intended to help someone remain healthy and how to gain happiness or each their dreams. There were a language barriers or syntaxes that I didn't always understand, but the concept of the book seems to be there. Life healthy and take care of oneself. At least that's what I got out of it. I look forward to reading more by this author.

A great read Desai tells a terror-fying (yes, intentionally written that way) with Germs of War. It's a well-written story of terrorists, biological warfare, and experimentation. It's put together at a great pace, and does not leave too much time for contemplation. Even with the medical terminology spread throughout the book, the reader was easy to understand what was going on, and know enough to be a little frightened of this story. I enjoyed Desai's writing style, and this reader could tell that that author had knowledge of what was being written. A great chilling, story. I look forward to reading more by this author.

Intense and thrilling Rogers pens a thrilling story in An Unexpected Evil. I haven't read anything from this author before, and I really enjoyed it. The characters were not just out of this world, but also intense and realistic. This author brings the stories to life. The pace of the story fit this type of story, and shared sub plots, which works. There is a great chemistry between the characters, and a depth that makes them realistic and flawed. The story brings in the believable, even if almost impossible. I have fast become a big fan of Rogers. I look forward to reading more by this author. A Grand Adventure O’Hare pens an adventurous journey in Searching for Unique. This is the first book of this author's that I've read. The title brings the reader in, but it is an unexpected and wondrous adventure. The journey is done by hiking and visiting unchartered areas, and the reader goes right along with the author. The adventure itself must've been enchanting and captivating. I wasn't there, but I'm really glad that the author took this reader along, even if on a virtual journey. The author writes, "so, when this world feels too small, too connected by global networks and more chaotic by the hour, consider lacing up your hiking boots and going far, far away." I look forward to reading more by this author. This book is a definite recommendation by Amy's Bookshelf Reviews.

Suspenseful read Sautter pens an intriguing story in Fish Farm . I haven't read anything from this author before, and I really enjoyed it. The characters were raw, flawed and very intense. A very well-written story, and I enjoyed it. The thrills and intrigue is written clearly and the characterizations are engrossing. Jack is one of those characters that you can see change, especially from tragedy and life's pitfalls. The struggling character is most interesting as his life turns upside down. This story was intriguing and kept the reader guessing. It's a great story to follow and try to figure out what will happen next. This author's characters develop and interacts well with the other characters. I have fast become a big fan of Sautter. I look forward to reading many more stories by this author. A piece of Peace Wagaman pens a motivational and mindful title in Soul in the Storm: Stress Management through Mindfulness and Inner Transformation. This book is best to be read by anyone who wants to find that little bit of peace. I got it on my reading list at just the right time. The title definitely fits this book, and it's not just about managing stress, but finding something inside yourself. Wagaman writes, "“Soul” may not be the real or best name for soul. I call it “soul” here, but you can call it anything that resonates with you: essence, Divine self, the “I” of “I am,” “the higher me,” or something else..." So whatever you call it, its within this book, and yourself. I really liked this book, and could resonate with the perspective of the author. Since the world is in a pandemic chaotic stage, a new "normal" so to speak, this is a read to help gain some type of peace, even a little bit of faith. I look forward to reading more by this author. Magnificently themed Keplar pens a short but very interesting and intense BDSM story in Twelve Maxbridge Street. I have read work from this author before, and I really enjoyed it. It is definitely for adults, and even more, those who definitely have an open mind not just to erotica but to BDSM. I am familiar with the BDSM lifestyle, so I felt this story was well detailed, and also well-written. A short story is not easy to write, and this left nothing out in the story. John attends The Association building, and that's just where his story begins. "Bondage. Punishment. The muscles between his legs contracted again. Ever since he’d begun the process of signing up for The Association, his body had begun to give him these pleasant little gifts." And that's all I'm giving away for this story. It's accurate and indeed an intense and yet, powerful read. This is a magnificent story, kept this reader turning the pages. If you love a good erotic BDSM story, this book should be next on your list. Twelve Maxbridge Street is a definite recommendation by Amy's Bookshelf Reviews. Another great title by Keplar Keplar pens a wonderfully tantalizing story in Naked and The Recurrence. It's two stories under one title. I have read work from this author before, and I really enjoyed it. The characters were intense and very realistic. This author brings the story to life. It is definitely for an adult, but one who enjoys erotica and BDSM, or at least can appreciate it. A man finds his desires in an unlikely place, and looks to explore them. A definite attention grabber, so much I couldn't put it down. "He had completed the task of saving his men, but he had also completely surrendered to his tormenters. If more of his men's lives were to be put at risk, he hoped he would be forced to save them again in the same way." This story captures the reader's attention at chapter 1. Naked and The Recurrence is a definite recommendation by Amy's Bookshelf Reviews. I look forward to reading many more stories by this author.
