Describe your desk
It's wooden with several piles on it. One pile is for trade magazines I sift through to get updated information to share with my clients and workshop participants. There is another pile with active client files I am working through for various consulting projects. Another pile is for accounts payable - BILLS! I also have a mirror, stapler, pen holder filled with my customized promotional pens, and phone.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up on the north side of Chicago. It is very diverse on this side of town as it is a virtual melting pot of all kinds of cultures. The diversity has really opened my mind to different ways of thinking and expanded my vision beyond what's just in front of my eyes.
