What's the story behind your last book?
What is it about Westerns? Many of my books are about Western characters and Cowboys. There's definitely something interesting and sometimes spicy about a man in boots, tight jeans and a huge cowboy hat. I suppose living in Nevada helps to fuel my possible obsession, but I do write about other interests as well.
My latest series is called These Nevada Boys. It's no secret that my home is in Nevada and the Wild West beckons to me on many levels. The more I explore the West, the more impressed I am with the people in it now and the people who came before. Westerners are a breed apart.
To introduce my new band of players, the Walkers, my first book is "Courting Polly's Daddy". I thought it would be fun to show how children directly affect the big and not-so-big decisions that we make in our lives. Polly wanted a mommy and knew precisely how to go about it! Her daddy was along for the ride when Polly made up her mind.
"Never Let Me Go" is the second book of the series and the story of the third son in the big Walker family. Sometimes we make big mistakes with the ones we love and this book explores how Reece tries to make his biggest mistake right again. It's certainly not easy and there's no guarantees but the end may just make it all worthwhile.
Fourth son Beau's story deals with unrequited love. In "Shoulda Been a Rancher", Beau has loved Sienna from afar for years but she just couldn't see him. Since I like Beau so much, I gave him a few chances to make something happen. The jury is still out whether love is in the cards for him.
The next book, "Since I Fell for You", is about Zane, fifth son and farrier. Do good friends always become lovers? Nope, but they have an opportunity or two that mere strangers don't. Whether the chemistry is there or not, is another whole ballgame.
Last but certainly not least is firecracker Kit Walker, the only daughter in the mighty Walker family. It's her way or the highway, so beware any potential suitors from getting caught in her wake. "That Nevada Girl" winds up the series with a bang!
I hope you enjoy the Walkers in rural Nevada as much as I have. There's twists and turns, good luck and bad, and missed opportunities with all the Walkers. But Nevada boys are all painted with the same Western brush. Let's see where it takes them.
I hope you like the new series! Happy Reading!
