Linda Andrews lives with her husband and three children in Phoenix, Arizona. When she announced to her family that her paranormal romance was to be published, her sister pronounce: "What else would she write? She’s never been normal."

  Investigator Maggie McCade is undercover as a Council Falls high school senior trying to figure out who hacked into the local software company. Included in her suspects is the hunky math teacher who has a history that gives him opportunity and could provide her with leverage. Jared Blake moved back home to build a life with his daughter. Unfortunately, the little girl has been distant to him since her mother died and Maggie seems to be the best thing to get through to her. Maggie insinuates herself into their family for the good of her investigation, but their home life brings out a longing that could jeopardize her case and her plans for starting her own investigative business. Jared must keep his distance from Maggie. Their attraction threatens not only his livelihood and reputation but, more importantly, his plans to raise his daughter. Maggie needs to stay and Jared needs her to leave. But love teaches according to its own rules. Counterfeit Love is a sweet love story about the true meaning of home and love. Both Maggie and Jared have a past that has taught them harsh lessons about trust. Ms. Hendricks delivers a page turner where both character's past wars with their desires and I couldn't help but root for their happy ending. But when all the deceptions are revealed, will Maggie and Jared believe enough in love give each other another chance or will they go their separate ways once the hacker is revealed?
  
• Emma's Wish on Nov. 16, 2011
  
  Widower Sam Jenkins has made the hardest decision of his life. Knowing he can't raise his children and make a go of his ranch, he decides to send his three children to his late wife's family. Just for a little while, he promises them and himself. Instead of going to live with strangers, they run away and stop for the night to rest and to steal a pie at Emma Witherspoon's house. A carriage accident has left Emma scarred, jilted by her fiancé and alone upon the death of her father. Weighed down by loneliness, she's come to accept that she'll never marry and have children. But the arrival of Sam's children gives her an idea on how to save them from being sent away and give herself a chance at a family. She proposes a marriage of convenience to Sam. Although no one can replace his ex-wife in his heart, Sam accepts for the sake of his children. Emma's Wish is a beautifully written story set in Texas. Emma is a caring, giving woman who's impulsive nature is constantly at odds with a past that has taught her not to trust. Sam is a man willing to do anything to make his children happy, even rewrite his late wife's memory. The care and kindness with which they treat each other helps love to bloom. Can they take a chance on each other or will some lessons be to harsh to overcome? Ms Scott's story is American Western romance at its best. Not since I discovered Jodi Thomas's books have I been so caught up in a story. Highly recommended.
  
• The Baby Race on Nov. 30, 2011
  
  Thanks to her wandering parents, Claire Jensen never knew a permanent home. Now that her parents are dead, she's determined to make sure her half-sister doesn't endure the same fate. But her bid for custody may be short-lived unless she marries the grandson of the town's most powerful matriarch. Abused and neglected as a child, Race Reed rehabilitates mistreated animals and places them in loving homes. That dream is coming to an end if he can't make his mortgage. His grandmother offers him a monetary windfall if he marries and has a son before his cousins. But what starts out as a marriage of convenience quickly becomes complicated. Will they remain safe in their cage of protectiveness or take a chance on love? The Baby Race is a poignant retelling of a classic theme. Ms Hendricks does a wonderful job of slowly unveiling Race's scars and deepest desires. Trusting and naive, Claire is an excellent foil for Race's darker past. While the heat between the two is sometimes scorching, it is the little moments of caring and respect that make The Baby Race a true romance that will last through the ages.
  
• Pride's Run on Dec. 01, 2011
  
  Pride has spent her entire life in captivity, learning to kill as both a human and as a wolf. But when her master threatens to mate her with an alpha that wants to kill her, she's desperate to escape. Before the full moon, she's sent out on a mission to track a suspect. If she uses this time to escape those she calls family at the master's compound will be punished or killed. Will she run for freedom or remain in captivity until she is broken? Pride's Run is a gritty and sometimes bleak picture of imprisoned werewolves and their drug dealing handlers. Ms. Kalen builds a world where you can't help but cheer Pride onto victory. As the story is told from Pride's point of view, we understand her strengths and weaknesses. I particularly enjoyed the struggle Pride endured to be comfortable in both her human and wolf skin. Pride's Run is a fresh spin on the werewolf mythos and shouldn't be missed by any fan of the genre.
