What's the story behind your latest book?
My latest book (HEALSPACE: The Space of Life) is book 4 of The Metaspace Chronicles, a series I'm in the middle of as we speak. It's about a future Earth where we traded for alien technology that eventually failed on us and crashed our civilization. However, exposure to the alien tech has bred a generation of people that *can* handle the psionic engineering, so a self-taught "wizard" is founding a school to graduate people who can give us the psionic tech support we never had before. Hopefully, Earth's civilization can rise again using a hybrid human-alien technology. I'm proofreading/editing that volume now. The first book in the series (PATHSPACE: The Space of Paths) is already out on Amazon and Smashwords, as is the second book (SPINSPACE: The Space of Spins) and the third book (TONESPACE: The Space of Energy).
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in Virginia, Florida, and California because my dad was Navy Air and his carrier kept moving. Moving every couple of years made it hard to have long-term friendships, so books became important as reliable companions. Once we moved into a house where someone had left a large number of books behind and that was a treasure trove for me.
