I like writing crime fiction with a side line in erotica. Enjoy.

A good short story that held my interest. It was fast paced and had an unusual 'voice' in the unnamed older woman who mostly narrated it. You don't often get older women as the main protagonist so that was a nice touch.
Only crticisms: maybe a bit less of the couple's earlier RV exploits throughout USA as it added nothing to the plot. And maybe expand on the gang a little more.
But it was worth the read - keep up the writing.

The plot is like a futuristic Treasure Island with a group of men from a lost colony world setting out to find a crashed spaceship with its cargo of high-tech goods which they think will make their fortune. The heroine, Valys, disguises herself as a boy so she can take part in the expedition - which leads to trouble with the mutineers. The book is very well written, fast paced and held my interest throughout - which not all books do. The trek through the desert with the deadly mountain bears following the party was particularly exciting. Also, I liked the way Alanye uses a slightly old-fashioned writing style to capture the backwardness of their world. Dai Alanye is a formidable writer.
