Amber Ivers

Biography

I currently live in Arkansas. I have enjoyed writing since I was a child. I would take my nightmares and make them into stories for my friends. But when one of my friends stole one of my stories, to use as their own, I stopped writing. It hurt me a lot and felt betrayed. It took a long time for me to even start writing again. When I did, I shocked myself into writing a novel.
I had a dream that kept coming back, so I took the opportunity to show my kids that they can do whatever they want, all they have to do is try. That is how Discovery was born.

Smashwords Interview

What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Creating the characters. I have no idea how the characters will come out in the end. I just let my imagination fly as I write them. I only start with a name. They're hair, or eye color, come as I write. I take notes down as I create them while writing so I can remember them later in the story.
What do your fans mean to you?
They mean everything. I enjoy making people happy. I, especially, love helping with imagination. Sometimes, we just want to get out of reality and into a fantasy land.

Smashwords book reviews by Amber Ivers

  • Compel (Rae Wilder #2) on May 06, 2011

Ms Fletcher has a way with making me feel sorry for characters that I shouldn't. I really enjoyed this book and Demon Girl. I can not wait for Demon Dark. This book has love, hate, adventure, and sorrow.
  • Enchant (Rae Wilder #3) on Nov. 03, 2011

Another book that I loved written by Penelope Fletcher. Can not wait until summer 2012. I hope that Demon Boy is as good as the rest of these. I am so curious to know more about Demon Boy and what happens to the rest of the survivors. Can hardly wait.
  • The Viscount and the Witch (Riyria Chronicles Short #1) on Nov. 16, 2011

I really enjoyed reading this book. The back and forth between Hadrian and Royce had me laughing. They make me think of brothers, not business partners.
  • Pool of Souls on March 12, 2012

I really enjoyed reading this book. It was hard to put down once I picked it up. I loved the connection between all characters involved. I had some laughs and cried even a few times. I hope that the last sentence meant that she is going to continue the series. I would love to read more about Caz's bravery. Maybe even Niko's bravery and some more of his gift being used. When he used it, it made me laugh! I could just imagine the look on their faces! I will definitely be re-reading this book!
  • Bonded on April 12, 2012

I love this story! I read this is less than a day! The tension is this book is exciting and enticing! I hope there is more. I love reading about the Law of the Lycans!
  • Draykon (An Epic Fantasy of Dragons) on May 26, 2012

I read draykon in less than eight hours. I enjoyed reading the struggle that Llandry had within herself and admired her courage. To be an average girl and become popular over night must have been a nightmare. Then to top it all off things started happening and her safety was in jeopardy. It was fun reading her reactions to the dangers and her stubborn will to continue on.
  • Lokant on May 26, 2012

I am glad that the story left off with the previous books but even if I had stumbled onto this one first, I would have still understood what was going on. I enjoyed the new addition to the characters and I couldn't help but laugh at his possessiveness. It had a sort of an ignorant to the times air about it and wasn't as offensive as I would have usually perceived it. Though I admit, I was hoping for a different relationship for a while, I came around to love this character as I love the main characters.
  • Orlind on May 26, 2012

warning minor spoiler This one was my favorite of the series. I am sad to see that the story ends. I would love to have seem what was to become when the little situation was reversed. I can admit that I was hoping that their be some sort of a double wedding at the end but that didn't happen. There was a lot of action in this book and I know that I cried at least once. I must say that I hope that Ms English will change her mind and have a cause for these characters to come back. Maybe even have Orlind explode! I was glad to see all the characters so completely linked together and they formed their own sort of family.
  • Scarlet Fever on June 04, 2012

Spoiler Alert******************************* I enjoyed this book. I am glad that it ended the way that it did, though I felt sorry for both the culprit and the protagonist. He needed help and I wonder how he thought that she would have been his bride if he never introduced himself to begin with. Not that I wanted that. Would he have killed Tomlin if they had married first? forgot my rating..hope their is more to come from this secret society
  • The Vampire's Redemption (Undead in Brown County #3) on June 07, 2012

I enjoyed reading this book and am looking forward to the release of the next one. I cried at the end of the book and I had mixed feelings on the relationships that were happening in there.
  • Smolder (Dragon Souls #1) on July 30, 2012

I fell in love with the main characters of this story instantly. Once again, Ms Fletcher has provided me with a story to love. I am anxiously awaiting the next book in the series. This story is well worth the read.
  • Chaos Theory (Cosmic Lovely #1) on July 30, 2012

I enjoyed this story. Ms. Fletcher did a good job creating her characters. I felt drawn towards a love story that didn't happen within the series but I kept reading in hopes. Though it did not end up that way, I still love the story and am curious to how the series will end.
  • The Vampire's Release (Undead in Brown County #4) on Oct. 17, 2012

I loved the ending of this book. I was happy for everyone involved. Though, I hope the story continues. I would love to know what problems Jackson could cause for vampires. What made him choose the vampire that he did and why did he do it? With so many enemies still out there for Michael, could he really be happy the way that they want to be? I sure hope so but it opens up lots of trials! Well, if she wants to write about them anyway. I was glad that Alex was in the story more and I loved how he acted in it. I do have questions about the link between Katie and Selena and Alex. But I can't wait for the next one, if there is one.
