Juli D. Revezzo

Biography

Juli D. Revezzo has long been in love with writing, a love built by devouring everything from the Arthurian legends, to the works of Michael Moorcock, and the classics and has a soft spot for classic the “Goths” of the 19th century. Her short fiction has been published in Dark Things II: Cat Crimes, The Scribing Ibis, Eternal Haunted Summer, Twisted Dreams Magazine and Luna Station Quarterly and Crossed Genres' "Posted stories for Haiti relief" project, while her non-fiction has been included in The Scarlet Letter. She has also, on occasion, edited the popular e-zine Nolan's Pop Culture Review... But her heart lies in the storytelling. She is a member of the Independent Author Network.

Smashwords Interview

What's the story behind your latest book?
A hoedown and a horse ranch. I spent some time in the country this last year and that gave rise to a story about a disgraced faery godmother (Ianthe) stationed with the owners of a horse ranch. The book is called Changeling's Crown and it is a quirky, and I hope fun, fantasy romance different from my other published works. Ianthe's now trying to find her footing in life and in the meantime falls in love with a mysterious and handsome man who works on the ranch. It's different from the Antique Magic series, more lighthearted, and I hope readers will enjoy it.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I've been writing with an eye to publishing almost 20 years now, but I was always a little nervous about self-publishing. It wasn't until E-publishing became so accepted the last few years that I changed my mind. I sat down and worked out The Artist's Inheritance, formatted, edited it, and held my breath and hit publish. Now I'm hooked. ;)

  • Le Cirque De Magie on May 28, 2013

Le Cirque de Magie sets readers down in the 1920s alongside Ravi, a trapeze artist in a circus troupe in Sarasota, Florida. Ravi's no ordinary trapeze artist, he's really a supernatural being called a Suparna. During his troupe's run, a dwarf joins up, but Ravi senses something strange about her--something he doesn't like. When his beloved Alice is threatened, Ravi senses the dwarf is behind it. Can Ravi save his beloved? What more trouble will the dwarf cause before he can stop her? And what'll happen when Ravi's secret is exposed? You'll have to read to find out! Filled with intrigue, romance, and magic, along with authentic tidbits of the culture of the 1920s that created a unique and vivid story world, this is a delightful little tale that I think fantasy fans will enjoy.
  • The Temporary Wizard of Locklynn on June 18, 2014

The Temporary Wizard of Locklynn is a short, cute tale of first assignments, disappointments, and a dash of young love–one I enjoyed very much. A nice addendum to the series. I think most readers of YA fantasy will enjoy it too.
  • Daughters of the Dagger on Aug. 23, 2014

In DAUGHTERS OF THE DAGGER, the prequel to the Daughters of the Dagger historical romance series,Elizabeth Rose offers up the story of a woman desperate for children. Lady Mirabelle deBurgh is so desperate for them, she relies on superstition and goes behind her husband’s back to purchase jeweled daggers from an old blind woman. The reason? Rumor says such action will help a woman conceive. But things don’t quite go as Lady Mirabelle intends. A short and rather dark, novella, the story of DAUGHTERS OF THE DAGGER moves along at a quick pace. I found it an intriguing read on a rainy afternoon and look forward to reading more of Elizabeth Rose’s work.
