Reviews of Smashwords Style Guide by Mark Coker

Maxwell Grantly reviewed on April 15, 2018

This is essential if you want to write and properly format a Smashwords book. It contains useful information that you will need to refer to again and again, to get the most from your Smashwords experience. It's difficult to pitch any instructional book to such a huge range of readers' abilities: some might claim that it is too simplistic while others might say that it doesn't give sufficient detail. However, all in all, Mark Coker has successfully hit the middle ground. Hopefully, it will assist those with no experience of eBook publishing whilst others, with experience might, find information in here that will assist them too.

This book is everything a guide should be. It explains everything in detail while being concise enough to manage, and is organized well enough to follow. In addition, the diagrams are very helpful, even though I use the most recent edition of word and there are a few discrepancies. This was incredibly informative and I urge every new Smashwords author to read this.

This book was a great help to me when I was battling with the formatting of my first book. I took my time to study all the steps dropped in it by Mark Coker, and the formatting work became simple. Now, I have my books, and can format many more.

This book is a must read to Smashwords newbies. I laud his efforts in writing this book!

I forgot how enjoyable and fun his writing style is. The last time I read this I forgot to appreciate how fun he makes this.....how human.....Mark Coker is a hero in the publishing industry and a friend to mankind. However he's no evil genius.....he's every day.....And it feels like a friend who cares....who is fun!..... I was in a state of abject terror when I read this for my first book....I love Mark Coker's Book and I think to world of Mark Coker and Smashwords.com atta boy!

This will help when I finally get around to finishing writing my novel in 5 years. Still stuck on Chapter 2! Much clearer than Createspace formatting lesson.

I don't really know why people are complaining about the size of the book. Personally, I enjoyed it. It wasn't that had to understand. Kudos to @markcoker for creating this eBook. I never would have understood professional eBook formatting without it.
