How do you approach cover design?
I researched what other authors had said about cover design, and spent a lot of time thinking about the way I wanted to present the story. I also looked at many images, trying to find one that would work. I decided I wanted a great house and an invalid chair, but finding them was quite a trick! I've blogged about the cover journey, but the brief end point was that I eventually had the chair drawn by an artist I know. I also experimented with a number of fonts before I found one that worked at thumbnail size. I'm pleased with the result. What do you think?
What do you read for pleasure?
I read widely. I particularly like historical fiction and historical romance, sf, mystery, and fantasy. But I also read biographies, philosophy, contemporary novels. You name it, really.
