In one word, riveting. A few grammatical errors here and there but all really great stories. I got angry, happy and sad with all the ladies and a couple of the guys (Drew is amazing). I cannot wait to read the rest of the series.
I must admit I started to read this a little reluctantly however I was soon completely captivated by the realism of the story and the depth of the characters. One of the best fantasy books I have read in a long time and the best and most plausible dealing with underwater civilizations. Thoroughly well researched with a fast moving plot and two fascinating main characters. In my mind a better read for sci-fi fans than Harry Potter as the witches and spells worlds have been done to ad nauseum.I hear Hollywood knocking...
This was a very pleasant surprise. The characters are deep and well fleshed out. The background story was very plausible and as realistic as can be when discussing vampires. The only disappointment was the one full sex scene which was a bit perfunctory for all the passion described.
I am a straight female and this story was so hot that it has e=been downloaded to my phone for me to access at my pleasure.
So hot my computer is still smoking, this was one of the best I have ever read. Strong interesting characters and relevant poignant issues. A true pleasure.
I must admit based on the reviews I had very high hopes for this story. It did not deliver. Ellery makes Bella look like Superbowl quarterback. She is incapable of making any decisions and like Bella she is in love with two apparently great guys with a stranger than fiction life. This story lags in many places in fact I finished it out of pure curiosity. It finally got interested towards the end and then it was over. Like the Bella stories the next ones will be from one of the love interests' point of view> Hopefully the story gets better.
You always imagine that you need a lot of pages to tell a really great story and then you read a short one that has it all. This made me laugh, cry and smile. Hope is a wonderful thing and the two characters had lost it and helped each other find it again. A very lovely story.
A modern day fairy tale. Strange that her height was given as the reason she had never been in love. Being over 6ft myself it was never an issue. But then I was not concerned with height as much as attraction! I suppose her main reason may have been more religious although that is more hinted at than specifically noted. Overall a nice enough story.
Okay so this was a tad painful. The story plot had very little continuity and the timelines made no sense. Unless they were building some seriously high-end pre-fab houses there was no way this house was as far along as implied. Second her apparent naivete at her former lover's deception was unbelievable.I will not even address the Navy SEAL connection, I think that has been addressed by other reviewers. The unveiling of the two bad guys, Monica and Diego made no sense. Really what are the odds she was stalking both of them? The jilted wife was also a terrorist courier! And Diego the international terrorist to personally try to kill Rachel? Oh and she was also a photographer/oil-applicator for photo shoots. Then that the day after getting shot all Rachel can think of is going to the spa? Okay you get the picture it had many moments of suspended belief but it was still entertaining mostly due to Cameron and Max's chemistry. Rachel and Hawke not so much
Slow to start but once it got going it absolutely blew my mind. Great characters, action-packed and the sexual tension was amazing. The only dissapointment was that the tension was never written about, an explosive love scene would have made this perfect. Not hard-core but something other than the curtains drawing closed scenario written. The author talked the talk but definitely came up short with the lack of consumnation between Damian and Sofia on what promised to be an explosive event.
I have to admit I do not know if I liked this story or the characters very much. It was so intense, I mean the atteraction, their passion it was a 150 watt light bulb! But in the end I do like that they both helped each other to grow and that always leads to a deeper relationship. So yes I did like it although now I feel completley drained!
I read a lot of paranormal work but this was pretty weird even for me. I never got what Duet saw in Oskar at all. The story was a bit slow in places but overall it was interesting, weird but interesting.
I admit I was slow to get into this book but once I read a few chapters i was hooked. I was so afraid of Jimmy i kept hoping he was not going to be the S.O.B. that I thought he was but alas we know how that turned out. I felt all of Amy's emotions so clearly, I had tears in my eyes most pages towards the end there. Very well written I will be purchasing the follow up books, I hope that Amy's life gets better although i seriously doubt it.
Absolutely riveting. Amy keeps on getting more and more lousy hands dealt to her. I could not read some of the descriptions of Charlie forcing himself too soon on her, my stomach felt every ache. On to the last one...hopefully there is happiness for Amy.
Dear Author I know it can cost to have an editor but pleas have a friend look over for spelling and grammar mistakes which although numerous did not detract from the book. A great story, very well fleshed out characters and amazing sex scenes! Cannot wait to read the next!
This story does not initially grab you from the synopsis but this was a surprisingly well-written, imaginative, fast-paced story with lots of passion and great characters. Will look for more from this author.
Okay I think the author should attempt to bring peace to the middle east. The easy solutions to the roadblocks in this story are without a doubt absolutely fantastic. I wish people had the capacity to forgive such traitorous deceptions as quickly as Abby who must be an angel living on earth. Sweet but should be listed as science fiction.
I have to laugh at the review by Ms. Holmes as this is my husband minus the millions unfortunately! I love a strong male character who is vocal about his feelings and demonstrative with his affections. This was a great read with the perfect amount of passion, intrigue and character growth.
I have read the entire series and I must admit I was disappointed when Trevain and Elandria got together but then I understood that they both needed someone and moved on. Spoiler alert - Then this book changed that. I don't know if I liked the conclusion, it did not gel with how the characters had grown thus far.
Very well written with characters I enjoyed meeting. Loved the chemistry between Michael and Anne. The story was fast-paced, intelligent and full of passion. I cannot wait to read more from this author.
Okay I was trying to be fair due to the age of the author but I could not finish. I struggled through more than 50% of it. There are blatant "borrowing" from everything from Twilight to Shades of Grey but the issue was in following the timeline and point of view.
The best gay romance I have ever read. I loved that the characters were smart but also handy and manly. I loved that they both topped which I think is the best of both worlds. They really complemented each other well.I liked everything about this book even the many many sex scenes which had enough variety to keep it interesting.
I liked this book overall because I liked the characters. They were a lot of grammitical errors and the speech patterns were out dated and overly formal sometimes. The time frame at the end was a bit confusing. Overall I enjoyed it.
I liked this book overall. The author had quite a few grammatical errors and the conversations were all overly formal and stiff. The timeline was also a little confusing. Also why the main characters had so many names I do not know! I did love the characters and was saddened by the crappy break that Bronwyn got. The author never really explained the use of 'Wren' that I got. Overall I enjoyed reading it and I would like to know the rest of Gavin's story.
As a child of a very permiscuous and careless father this story was my greatest fear. So much so that I married a man of a different race without even the slightest possibility of shared lineage. I thought the book could have been better edited. they were a few repetitive paragraphs. The moral compass seems to be completely off which is no problem for me but strange as the author kept referring to it. Overall a good read.
This was a lovely story about an often overlooked and under discussed subject. Selfishness is seen as a negative by society but we do sometimes need to put ourselves first in order to survive. Well down on telling this story with empathy and grace.
Very impressive effort. This story had all the right things in the right amount. The chemistry between Stella and Alex jumped off the page and the sex scenes were tasteful and raunchy at the same time! Looking forward to reading more.
Another interesting series from Ms. Conn. My only complaint is that her characters are pretty predictable in terms of mannerisms, wardrobe and even dialogue. If one more "Fella" is said I will hit someone! Saying that I still enjoy her books.
Talk about a wolf in sheep's clothing! This book was a very good surprise. Fast paced, action packed and romantic to boot. I hope the author continues the tale as I would love to know what happens next.

Very good book but and I can't believe I am saying this but to much sex and fighting. After a while I skipped the sex and some of the fight scenes. I think it could have done without it and still been erotic an adventurous.
Loved this story, I am so glad to see an alternative African- American lifestyle being represented so well. Cannot wait to read Bria's story next.
The Game of Seduction
on Jan. 14, 2013
This series is getting better and better! Very sexy without being too graphic. I love the strong male characters and of course the super strong female characters. Keep writing more.
A different angle on the domineering male theme although Oliver's character does not seem domineering in his life only apparently during sex with subordinates.I am curious if him calling her Cassie after sex in the office was a mistake on his part or on the editor's.
I have to admit the synopsis did not impress me so this languished for a while before I read. I was very pleasantly surprised. I would have written a bit moreas the end felt a little rushed but overall a romantic adventure with lots of suspense.
I admit I was a little uncomfortable with the first chapter but I continued on and I even understood the relationship. This makes me even more uncomfortable but in reality I could totally understand Rafe. His accomplishments are a little much but I love his overall attitude of self-reliance and self-satisfaction. Very well done.
A very solid effort, a little bit of grammatical, spelling and content editing needed. Some phrases were repeated too frequently such as the confusion of the main characters over their reaction to each other. Overall an enjoyable story with good suspense.
Absolutely amazing. I barely wanted to stop for bathroom breaks. Two soul mates seems unfair to the rest of us but after her shitty start in life Elaina deserves it. One of the most romantic, passionate and engrossing books I have read in a really long time. I need at least 3 more stars.
Overlooking the grammatical errors this was a very poignant view at the standards women are held to and hold themselves to. Reviled for being sexual but also equating love and sex leads to self-loathing and unhappiness. A very thoughtfully written story.
A very thrilling conclusion that I think could lead the way to the next story, a prequel and a conclusion based on Krystos's life. I know he is the villain but his actions set so much in action that it would make sense I think.
I have never rooted for a couple to break up more than these two. I am quite sorry this is continuing to another book because frankly I am very over this romance! Talk about toxic. A note to the author, your dialogue see-saws between hip young college aged kids and 1950's Lotharios. I guess it is only fitting that the one thing these two get right is the best writing in the story, the insanely hot sex! Sigh okay on to the next.
This was a stop and go read for me. It picked up once Maryanne meets Gabriel. We never learn what was the reason she was unable to have an orgasm and why she could so easily with Gabriel. I suppose the idea of her needing to find her soul mate has some merit but considering he gave her one three days in I think not so much. More likely and evidently Danny was a lackluster lover combined with her unrealized need for dominance. Overall a rather realistic look at most of our lives. Short moments of passion, longer moments of tedium.
Ok enough with the under 30 billionaire's with no real reason why they are billionaires! I liked many aspects of this story and others just felt thrown in for good measure. We barely touched on Keisha's life so why mention it? I get the reason for Nickie's story but it didn't seem like she ever learns her lesson. My favorite character was Pookie, his was a story I would have liked more on. Leila was ok not terribly interesting, architecture major and never visited Europe? Tucker seems like a big sweet child that really should be more discerning in his lovers. The ending was too rushed, I get the need for suspense for the sequel but there is anticipation and there is frustration. It loses a star for this.
I thought it was well laid out, I loved how the characters were slowly revealed. They were all flawed and trying to make the best of it. My heart breaks for Damien, please find him some peace, a second chance.
A very intriguing start to this series. I like the two female lead characters although Pax acts rather childish sometimes and I would like a bit more background on her and Thorn first hooking up, that could be interesting. Will be getting the rest of the series for sure!
I think this is more murder/mystery or even suspense rather than erotica. The subject matter is the character's nymphomania but erotic is not simply talking about sex. There are quite a few editing and grammatical errors and the dialogue is very formal and ungainly in some parts. I liked the premise of the story, it had a few unexpected plot twists that were introduced and then abruptly dropped. I think with some editing and continuity help it could be so much better.
This is one of those stories that you need to read a couple times to make sure you don't miss anything. It is so jam packed with emotion and angst, it is like Dallas back in the day! I am very interested in what happens.
Wow I started this after 2am and finished it in record time as I could not wait to find out more. For a first time effort this was a dark and deep subject to tackle. I had tears in my eyes as I read this story because although our parents are supposed to protect us it is often the case they are the ones we need protecting from. Not a perfect book but the compelling story and the strong characters more than make up for it. A very compassionate and realistic telling, I would love to know that Tiffany turns out ok.
This was a slight twist on the very popular billionair/virgin plot line sweeping the publishing world. I suppose we should be glad they don't sparkle. Quite a few grammatical editing errors but a decent read.
I thought this was beautifully written, I sympathize for Thomas, he seems frozen in the past even with a potentially interesting future ahead. Avdryana is fascinating, compassionate and downright sexy for a cat-like alien!
As always a well laid out plot but of this author's characters Diana is not my favorite. She is described as intelligent and as the bread winner but her dependency on tranquilizers and lack of financial acumen does not support this. Carlos is also not as innocent as the others but luckily changed his ways to legitimate work. His background is a bit implausible. As always an enjoyable, sensual story.
This was well written and emotion packed. On one hand every one makes mistakes especially when we are young but on the other hand they are some things that are unforgivable. Is this the case here, I do not know but I am very curious to see what happens.
A nice twist on the male with the supernatural power falls for simple sweet girl.A very enjoyable and non-irritating story about a young couple who brave some unusual challenges and learn to depend on and love each other.
I am not a big fan of christian themed stories, nothing against them but not my cup of tea. However although the characters in this story were christian and talked and did christian things, the book did not feel like it was moralizing to the reader. Also a good plot with lots of xecitement and a sweet passionate romance were all throughout.
Oh such a cruel story! Well at least she can test her acting skills! The preview of the Pearl stories is an interesting premise, a woman of a 'certain age' and a younger, sophisticated man however the individual stories do not over samples.
Okay I appreciate the absence of BDSM, sparkly vampires and wizards but still this was an instance of throwing a lot of stuff to see what stuck. Where to begin, okay the proposition itself, really that much money and surprise it is not legal! Abby's constantly changing attitude to the escalating violence was enough for whiplash. The constant almost passionate encounters was a huge letdown when actually followed through and warranted a bare mention. Her role in the whole story was flimsy at best and useless for the most part. Paul's character was never developed and Nick just came over as a tease. I think I will stop here as I am pretty annoyed with myself right now.Oh wait on the plus side now that every story seems to be set in Seattle/Oregon the tourism must be through the roof!
I gave up sleep to finish this book! If this is your first effort, well done! I am in love with Kane! My favorite type of guy, hot and handy with a heart. Laura was for the most part a strong, fun character with the occasional bout of insecurity. Throw in opionated friends, swearing infatnts and a landscape to write poetry to and you have a winning combination.
Hmmm, well I applaud the author for trying not to copy every thing from Shades of Grey but then to throw everything but the kitchen sink in there was just as bad. Taken with the numerous typos and the sheer suspension of reality required and well you get the idea.
Preach it sister, preach it. I am constantly saying that if I wanted kids I would adopt despite the pressure being put on me by friends and family over my being over 6 feet and an ex-model and also having a taller, thin handsome Caucasian husband. The reason that our genes would make a beautiful mixed baby is just not enough for me. I look at the numbers of things available to determine rarity and with the number of kids out there, nope nothing rare about motherhood. I also look at the numbers to determine if i can afford the best of whatever it is I want. I was privileged to have a nice well-rounded education with art, music, tennis etc. That same education in the northeast of the US would cost me at least $15 K a year, half that in preschool! Ms. Brown this story should be required reading for wannabe parents!
Wow this story goes from bad to worse on a dime! These characters especially Helen have the worst luck on the planet. The story is gripping, fast-paced and seems well researched with vivid descriptions. The ending felt a bit convenient to me but I am pretty jaded!
This has been a mammoth story with more drama and action than Dallas in its prime. The entire series has had typos and other errors bvut frankly they did not detract from the story one iota. I think there must be one more book just to wrap it all up and I can't wait to read it.
This was a very nice surprise. I liked both of the main characters something I did not expect given the storyline.Full of heartfelt emotions and real world tragedies this story will pull at your heart strings. The only negative and that is a small one is that the buildup of passion was pretty intense with a little bit of a lackluster delivery. I had to deduct a star for that.
Damn. The women in this series are super heroes for what they have to go through and the men are their perfcet matches. Realistic, compassionate and romantic this story will have you swearing at loud and hoping for the next in the series.
Such a short story but so impactful. Sammy is obviouslcy torn between shame and lust and as a reader you are torn between the two as well. Sammy seems young although his age is not mentioned so he should feel no shame from acts done to him by his father who should know better.
A very good story, only one correction. No Barbadian parent in their right mind would send their child to the US for high school. No offense but when History from Mesopotamia to 1962, piano, Art (all of it) and Literature covering Chaucer to Faulkner is covered for free, in addition to a myriad of subjects deemed essential for a well-rounded individual, there is no need. And as a Bajan born and educated person I find that it is often the reverse. And yes we are pretty big on etiquette for an island! Short of that fallacy I enjoyed the story immensely!
I admit to be confused at the end, I get that the scene itself and Mike's lack of participation was not satisfying but I do not not understand her ending it all. It did not seem as if all aspects of the relationship were bad.
Okay I agree with the other review, giving her four first names and three last names was overkill. I also agree she was the most stubborn woman and frankly Dexter could have done better. However with his 14 years of college education due to an inability to decide what to do, doctor lawyer whatever, he is also a piece of work. So they do deserve each other!
This story spent 99 pages showing us how bad Austin was for Jaimee and three trying to convince us that he was not and she could handle the lifestyle he introduced her to. Needless to say that is fanciful at best and unsafe at the worst. She became the opposite if her former self and I was disappointed at the lack of concern exhibited by her friends. The behavior of the characters was too erratic to make sense and without giving too much away led to a depressingly predictable end. On the plus side really great sex!
I must admit I was fully prepared to not like this book too much as I am quite over the SOG copycats. However this was a much better read than that in as much as the female character is more interesting and assertive, which is strange for a submissive but not really considering. Anyway it was a bit of "The Devil Wears Prada" meets the first SOG story. The male character also made a bit more sense and exhibited more normal and interesting emotions. I was a bit let down with the predictable "twist' at the end but I will purchase the follow up story because I hope the author will not offer the predictable solution.
This was a story full of twists and turns, sometimes so many your head spins. A few more typos than I would have liked. And a couple of unanswered questions I would like answers to but overall a good read.
Hmm this story has me leaning both ways, part of me thinks falling in love that young with the same person is doomed to fail as we are not the people we will grow into be as yet. Th other thinks that they are best friends and love each other in ways we can only imagine. I don't know but they sure put each other through a world of hurt. The ending was pretty sudden for me.
This was a very enjoyable read with two strong, accomplished characters and a whole lot of chemistry. A lot of reasons here for a sizzling relationship short of a smell or a lip bite. These two could be true partners in the bedroom and boardroom. Well done!
Ok so I have to say that I do not find the love triangle romantic at all. These characters have very few redeeming qualities other than their love for each other. I get that there was a reason for the "family" but really? Anna is the most fickel woman on the planet since Bella and frankly the whole bed-hopping scenario is down-right disturbing in that these men are supposedly blood brothers. Anna's mind-set is also worrying as she casully dismisses what would cause me to pause. The story has a fast pace and is certainly action packed.
This book has an interesting premise. The main character, Cess is not very interesting and does not grow at all. She is very reactive and despite making a lot of noise seems to go along with what has been decided for her. Draken is more interesting, his being a dragon not withstanding. However he is very moody and overly dramatic. The dialogue is a little heavy handed most of the time and they are some points where it contradicts itself, for example travel to and from earth.
I liked the telling of this story, the author is truly talented. However I hated the two characters Eddie and Grace together. They just seemed like each others kryptonite. Eddie has a slew of issues, most of which are destructive to him and others. Grace had her own unresolved issues and frankly forgave Eddie too many of his. They remind me a bit of Liz & Dick, lots of passion epic pain. I want them to have a happily ever after but I seriously doubt it.
I didn't read the prequel to this story but I wish I had. I read the entire story and frankly it was painful. None of the characters are even remotely likeable and the plot meanders along like the countryside it is set in.
Another good read with interesting characters, amazing chemistry and smoking hot sex to boot! The story was not as well fleshed out as I would like especially for Todd/Luc. His aversion to publicity was kept back for too long and the whole misunderstanding with the wife was more annoying than anything. Still an overall good read and cannot wait to read more from this author.
This was an absolutely amazing read. i read it in 4 hours as i could not stop. The characters became friends as they made mistakes and judgements and i wanted to hit them or yell at them. the story contained lots of heartache, lots of loss and some fleeting happiness. A bit like life if we let it. Well done I love James for all his flaws and Isobel for willing to try at love over and over. Ten stars.
I am in the minority here but this was not Ms. Hubbard's best. There were grammatical errors throughout, a couple of passages that were repeated and frankly the story itself seemed to just run out of control. None of the characters were very likeable or exhibited any sory of growth.
Wow, this is one heck of an intense story. On one hand I want them to be together but then I think hmm two very similar people will not work. The author completely immerses you in this love story and it is a love story from the beginning. Lana sounds amazing if very flawed and Wes is a big sweetie, mos of the time. A very good read.
