I must admit I started to read this a little reluctantly however I was soon completely captivated by the realism of the story and the depth of the characters. One of the best fantasy books I have read in a long time and the best and most plausible dealing with underwater civilizations. Thoroughly well researched with a fast moving plot and two fascinating main characters. In my mind a better read for sci-fi fans than Harry Potter as the witches and spells worlds have been done to ad nauseum.I hear Hollywood knocking...

I must admit based on the reviews I had very high hopes for this story. It did not deliver. Ellery makes Bella look like Superbowl quarterback. She is incapable of making any decisions and like Bella she is in love with two apparently great guys with a stranger than fiction life. This story lags in many places in fact I finished it out of pure curiosity. It finally got interested towards the end and then it was over. Like the Bella stories the next ones will be from one of the love interests' point of view> Hopefully the story gets better.

Okay so this was a tad painful. The story plot had very little continuity and the timelines made no sense. Unless they were building some seriously high-end pre-fab houses there was no way this house was as far along as implied. Second her apparent naivete at her former lover's deception was unbelievable.I will not even address the Navy SEAL connection, I think that has been addressed by other reviewers. The unveiling of the two bad guys, Monica and Diego made no sense. Really what are the odds she was stalking both of them? The jilted wife was also a terrorist courier! And Diego the international terrorist to personally try to kill Rachel? Oh and she was also a photographer/oil-applicator for photo shoots. Then that the day after getting shot all Rachel can think of is going to the spa? Okay you get the picture it had many moments of suspended belief but it was still entertaining mostly due to Cameron and Max's chemistry. Rachel and Hawke not so much

As a child of a very permiscuous and careless father this story was my greatest fear. So much so that I married a man of a different race without even the slightest possibility of shared lineage. I thought the book could have been better edited. they were a few repetitive paragraphs. The moral compass seems to be completely off which is no problem for me but strange as the author kept referring to it. Overall a good read.

A very solid effort, a little bit of grammatical, spelling and content editing needed. Some phrases were repeated too frequently such as the confusion of the main characters over their reaction to each other. Overall an enjoyable story with good suspense.

More likely and evidently Danny was a lackluster lover combined with her unrealized need for dominance. Overall a rather realistic look at most of our lives. Short moments of passion, longer moments of tedium.

Ok enough with the under 30 billionaire's with no real reason why they are billionaires! I liked many aspects of this story and others just felt thrown in for good measure. We barely touched on Keisha's life so why mention it? I get the reason for Nickie's story but it didn't seem like she ever learns her lesson. My favorite character was Pookie, his was a story I would have liked more on. Leila was ok not terribly interesting, architecture major and never visited Europe? Tucker seems like a big sweet child that really should be more discerning in his lovers. The ending was too rushed, I get the need for suspense for the sequel but there is anticipation and there is frustration. It loses a star for this.

Okay I appreciate the absence of BDSM, sparkly vampires and wizards but still this was an instance of throwing a lot of stuff to see what stuck. Where to begin, okay the proposition itself, really that much money and surprise it is not legal! Abby's constantly changing attitude to the escalating violence was enough for whiplash. The constant almost passionate encounters was a huge letdown when actually followed through and warranted a bare mention. Her role in the whole story was flimsy at best and useless for the most part. Paul's character was never developed and Nick just came over as a tease. I think I will stop here as I am pretty annoyed with myself right now.Oh wait on the plus side now that every story seems to be set in Seattle/Oregon the tourism must be through the roof!

I was privileged to have a nice well-rounded education with art, music, tennis etc. That same education in the northeast of the US would cost me at least $15 K a year, half that in preschool! Ms. Brown this story should be required reading for wannabe parents!

The characters became friends as they made mistakes and judgements and i wanted to hit them or yell at them. the story contained lots of heartache, lots of loss and some fleeting happiness. A bit like life if we let it. Well done I love James for all his flaws and Isobel for willing to try at love over and over. Ten stars.

I am in the minority here but this was not Ms. Hubbard's best. There were grammatical errors throughout, a couple of passages that were repeated and frankly the story itself seemed to just run out of control. None of the characters were very likeable or exhibited any sory of growth.

Wow, this is one heck of an intense story. On one hand I want them to be together but then I think hmm two very similar people will not work. The author completely immerses you in this love story and it is a love story from the beginning. Lana sounds amazing if very flawed and Wes is a big sweetie, mos of the time. A very good read.

I was surprised that I liked this book. From the reviews and the the description I was not expecting much but it delivered. The matching of wits was funny and the circumstances although not a laughing matter did not define either character. Two kindred spirits of practicality and ambition, Hugo and Serena were perfect for each other. Yes she was raped and other than her wish to secure a future for her child Serena does not seem the sort to dwell. A complete opposite of her sister. Ironically the lesson here to me is that we all determine or should determine our fate. We may not be able to control all circumstances but our reaction and our actions should be well-planned. Both of these characters tried to control their fate, Hugo even controlled the Duke's fate for a time. They deserved a happy ending.

I liked most of this story. As a 6ft 1" former athlete and model and rapidly approaching 40 years old I have had to view my body no longer as a way to gain free education/employment but as just my body. For better or for worse slowing metabolism and all! I liked Cat and Nate together, they definitely had chemistry. I too was confused at the couple of mis-steps by the author mentioned by a previous reviewer. The ex-boyfriend and the showering issue. But overall a good message, a well told story and good characters.

With no redeeming qualities, the backbone of an amoeba and the worst decision making skills since Lot's wife. The telling of the story was very good, the story itself not so much.
