Taryn Brooks

Biography

Hi, my name is Taryn and there's a lot about me that reflects in my stories. I am happily married and by day I work in the real estate biz, showing houses and negotiating deals but by night I am always looking for some kind of outlet, whether it's real or fiction.

I had a brief stint in the amateur adult film industry, filming a few indie flicks when I was eighteen and I'm fortunate to have found a husband who not only accepts my insane sexual appetite, but my colorful past and my tie-died current. I started writing as I am a very sexual person and my mind usually floats towards some sort of sex anyway. It seemed to be a shoe-in.

But to stay happy and married (or maybe to keep the secrets to our marriage secret, lol), I put a lot of these stories together to share my fantasies and my realities. It's up to you to decide which ones are which, lol.

Thanks for reading! And keep that mind in the gutter! It's much more fun in there.

  • Operation: Mistletoe on Sep. 11, 2012

My husband and I just read Operation Mistletoe and all I can say is that I don't remember laughing that hard with a book. It's insane, it's funny and it has a heart under the twisted tale. Very funny and very cool and seeing all of those Christmas icons doing what they were doing was definitely worth it. I really loved the nasty elves and crazy reindeer, lol. I will be reading his other material soon!
  • Out on a Limb on Sep. 11, 2012

I write erotic fiction and my husband (and some silent others, wink wink) can attest that my writing mirrors my sex, quick and filthy. So I downloaded Out on a Limb and I was pleasantly surprised at my reaction to erotica that leaned more towards the "erotic" portion of the word. This story dealt with the passion of the mind being the driving force to gratification and how your thoughts can be even filthier than reality. And then mashing the two? Yeah, I was surprised at the cerebral mentality of hot sex and even more satisfied with the reality behind it. Nice, hot stuff!
  • Fractured: Athena Rising on Dec. 09, 2012

I read Greg Jackson's first book and it was hysterical so I bought Fractured: Athena Rising, not knowing what to expect. I love sci-fi and his twist didn't disappoint, with the hi-tech involved. The main character, Dylan King was an instantly complicated and likable girl...part precocious teen and part 18 year-old girl thrown into the survival of adulthood after a brutal life up until now. The characters in the book all had unique personalities, even in the Crow-like dark worlds they lived in. The author's twisted humor was sprinkled in here and there but this book was a little more edgy and grittier in tone than Mistletoe was. But it's the first book of the series, so I can't wait for the second part to see how Dylan grows and adapts to the fate she's been given, and I need to see what's real! There are political overtones that set the story that eerily mirror what's going on today, but I thought of it as a story of a lost girl trying to find herself in a horrible world as she's being hunted down for the technology in her she didn't have a choice to accept. It's dark and violent but it's definitely a very cool book.
