Describe your desk
My desk is a big, old cherry executive desk that I fell in love with at a garage sale and talked hubby into lugging it home for me. Right now it's covered in papers, sticky notes, computer paraphernalia, vitamin bottles, and pictures. It might look like chaos, but I know where everything is.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I was born in Lubbock, Texas but most of my memories center around Lynn County, Texas, just south of Lubbock. It's where my grandparents lived, where my mom and dad grew up, where I played with all my cousins and learned the meaning of hard work, family, and friendship. I set my first series in this area that I renamed Morris Springs for the books. We left west Texas when I was six to live in different parts of the US for the next several years, but I was always happiest back home. The values I learned there are major themes in most of my books.
