. I am definitely a product of my societal environment and have all the “T” shirts to prove it. Of course I passed those traits down to my child and never stopped to think why I did what I did. I have made some really good and bad choices over the years, but never took the time to really process who I was. When I got laid off that May, which I think Mary had a hand in, I finally got the freedom to write this book and figure out why I have a space in this world. Since childhood, I have had all these “different” ideas, and thought everyone had the same way of thinking. I figured out a lot of stuff working in the yard, but kept it to myself. I never made the choice to speak up. To top it off, I hav ... read more

Gary Pool
Gary Pool’s new book, “Promoted! Now What?” is the quintessential guide for new and existing Managers/Supervisors to become the best. If you are like 95% of all supervisors, after your promotion, you received little to no training for your new assignment. The 5% that do get training often find it ineffectual. You are then left to learn on the job. If you survive your mistakes, it will take you an average of two to three years just to reach satisfactory performance levels. A favorite quote of Mr. Pool is, “The years will teach you what the days, weeks and months don’t know.” You can ill afford to take years to become a great supervisor.

I love stories. Suspense, mystery, romance, drama, comedy--I love them all. Film or book, give me a good yarn over reality any day. My only requirement is that the characters catch my interest and don't let go.
In writing my own stories, it's human nature that intrigues me more than anything. What makes a person do what they do? Say what they say? Why do they try so hard to do the right thing, but sometimes, even with the best intentions, fail terribly?
Friendships also figure prominently in my stories because my own friendships have meant so much to me over the years. Whether light-hearted or gritty, in the end it's the relationships between people that make a tale worth telling.

Varian Krylov
I grew up by the sea in Southern California, and now I'm living in sunny Spain.
I've always loved the music and substance of words, always loved writing in notebooks and journals by hand, tapping at the keys of the computer, and, of course, conjuring up stories.
And from my earliest memories, I've always been fascinated--maybe obsessed?--with sex and sexuality.
In my writing, I poke at social issues, but more than anything, I dig into the psyches of my characters. Sex is the medium, the expression, and the tool of discovery for their insecurities, the needs that drive them, the comfort they can't live without, the joy and relish of life that makes each of them intense, strange, and alluring.

For many years I worked with the public. Many times we have gotten on the subject of prayer. Far too often I have heard things like, “I don’t know how to pray.” “I hear members of my congregation pray, but I do not know how to pray like they do.” My advice, Talk to God just like you talk to me. It doesn’t have to be flowery or churchy prayer…God likes SIMPLE!
I knew several years ago that my calling in life is intercession, standing in the gap for others. What I didn’t know was that this meant more than me taking things to God in prayer for them. As I sat at my mother in law’s home three states away, unplugged from my computer, little cell phone service, and just a quiet moment with God, ... read more
