  • Raven's Quest - a Novella on May 27, 2012

3.5 Stars Shapeshifter Raven Grace and her psychic lover, Finn McPhee, are back, traveling to parallel time in search of a demonic killer. When I chose to review this book, the description sounded like something I would really like. The first chapter of this book had me captivated. It was well-executed, full of action and and I loved the interaction between Raven and Finn. After that, it kind of lost me. Perhaps it is because I didn't read book one, but there were a lot of things that I didn't understand. A character would say that they knew something, but I was left wondering how. I didn't understand why time stayed still in one time, but moved forward in another. Raven and Finn are a great team in this book, and they have good chemistry. It was just the unanswered questions that left me wanting more. Overall, I did enjoy this book, and I do recommend it.
  • Paranormal Pleasures: Ten Tales of Supernatural Seduction on July 20, 2012

Highly recommended! This book was provided to me by the author for my honest review
  • Murphy's Law on Aug. 03, 2012

When I read the blurb for this book, I thought the story premise sounded amusing, and I wasn’t disappointed. The story could have gone two ways – either it could have gotten way too serious, which would have wrecked it, or it would be kept light. Thankfully, the author kept it light. I really liked the characters, and I thought they were pretty well flushed out. Alexis cracked me up, and reminded me of my best friend (except for the assassin detail). Dane was sexy, and Naomi was a good sidekick for Alexis. My issue in the book was the romantic development between Alexis and Dane. It seemed as though one page there was nothing but stark physical attraction, and the next they were in love. There wasn’t really time or a scene where it showed them actually really getting to know each other. I also thought the author went a little overboard on the sexual attraction between them, and also needed to find different ways to describe what Alexis was feeling. Overall I really enjoyed this book definitely recommend it for a good, fun read. This book was provided to me by the author for an honest review.
  • The Second Son on Jan. 12, 2013

The Second Son picks up where the Third Son left off. To everyone’s surprise, Serge wakes from his year-long coma to find a different world then when he went unconscious. Damien, the third son, is now king, and with the responsibility, not to mention Esmeralda, is no longer the rakish loose cannon that I loved so much in the first book, but a well-respected, honorable king. Isabella lost the love of her life when Lionus died in the first book. She has spent the past year in mourning and sitting hours upon hours next to Serge’s bed. She is a gentle, pampered princess who has had her life planned out for her since her birth, and with the death of Lionus, she is unsure of what she should do, where she should go, and what her purpose is. With her land, Barony, under attack from the rebels, it is decided that their people need their queen (Isabella), and she needs to take a king. After much deliberation, she picks Serge, who has loved her from a far his whole life. However, there story is not a happily ever after (yet) because Isabella still has feelings for Lionus, and carries guilt that she has taken on a king. The author does a wonderful job with the book with bringing us into her world. She also does an excellent job with character creation, especially with the transformation of Isabella from a lost, docile princess, to a strong, competent warrior female. As for Serge, I found myself liking him more than I liked Damien, and I didn’t think that was going to be possible. His character was the perfect balance of “bad boy” and “serious king.” I’m looking forward to continuing reading this series, so I’m on to the Lady Knights next! This book was provided to me by the author for a fair and honest review. I was not compensated in any way.
