Not exactly a comfortable read, as in a short story there's little room for a soothing buffer surrounding the drama, but it is a very powerful story, and I do like the idea very much.

What an intense book! It was so captivating that I stayed up till 4 a.m. to finish it. I think that including the links was a great idea. I like doing a bit of research if a subject/place/person/etc. mentioned in a book interests me, so the included links saved me quite some time. Unfortunately some of the links are no longer valid - I will tell you which in an email, as requested, so you can put other links in instead. Most of the youtube videos aren't working in Germany, though some do work with the Firefox addon ProxTube. I'm looking forward to buy and read the sequel.

  • Hunted (The Flash Gold Chronicles, #2) on Feb. 18, 2013
    star star star star star
Even though I prefer the Emperor's Edge series,(one reason being that the Flash Gold series is a bit heavy on the technical stuff,) I'm always amazed at how Lindsay manages to draw me into the story with the excellent portrayal of her characters and their amusing interaction; and I'm definitly looking forward to read more of this series.
  • Peacemaker (The Flash Gold Chronicles, #3) on Feb. 18, 2013

Wow, I loved this one! This series is definitely growing on me. I hope the next installment will be out soon.
  • Beneath the Surface (The Emperor's Edge 5.5) on Feb. 20, 2013

Why aren't there 10 stars to rate? 5 stars is definitely not sufficient to convey how much I enjoy every book in this series!
  • Encrypted on Feb. 21, 2013
    star star star star star
Yet again a great story of Lindsay with excellent character portrayal and a lot of action, interspersed with humour. Having read all Emperor's Edge books, it was really interesting to learn a bit of the past of this universe - including how Sicarius got his famous knife.
  • Enigma on Feb. 22, 2013

  • The Girl Who Dreamt of Dolphins on April 08, 2013
    star star star star star
This is a really beautiful story. The characters of Lucy and the dolphins are very well written, and there is a lot of action that made it hard to stop reading for necessary breaks. I'm looking forward to read the next in the series.
  • Dolphin Child on April 27, 2013
    star star star star star
Please, tell me that the next book will be available soon! Sigh, I really don't like cliffhangers when I can't get the next book immediately. I really do like this series, I've come to care about the characters (especially Spirit, Lucy and Paul) and I want to know what's going to happen next. I also like the descriptions very much, which help me to imagine the surroundings so very well, and I like that the story is so interesting and keeping my attention that it's hard to take a break. The only thing I found a bit difficult in this book was that I got confused several times with the 'time-hops'. But the exciting end definitely made up for this small annoyance, so that I'm still giving it 5 stars.
  • The Goblin Brothers Adventures Vol. 1 on May 03, 2013
    star star star star star
Although having so far loved reading each of Lindsay's books, I hadn't yet read this book of hers, but now I'm wondering if there will be a sequel since it says Vol. 1. I really enjoyed the stories in this book and I'd love to read more of the goblin brothers. As with all her books, I loved Lindsay's writing style, her humour and her great character portrayal.
  • Dragon Charmers: #1 Mountains of Fire on May 03, 2013
    star star star star star
Wow, I love this series! I already liked the short story, but now that I've read the first book, I'll surely be getting the following books as well to read more about the characters and the dragons. There's still so much to discover about Logan, and all the hints about his background have made me really curious to learn the whole story. The book is very well written, the characters are wonderfully portrayed, and I also like the fast pace of the story.
  • Circle of Dreams: #1 Runeweaver on May 04, 2013
    star star star star star
Yet another wonderful book by Linda McNabb, and I have found another favourite author :) I really enjoy Linda's writing style. Her characters are well portrayed and her descriptions make it easy to visualise the characters, scenes and surroundings. Now, I want to know what the future holds for Zaine, and I will certainly buy the other books in the series to find out.
  • Monasco: Passage To Anathema (Book I) on May 28, 2013
    star star star star star
This is a wonderful story with beautiful descriptions, a lot of action and well portrayed characters. And I absolutely adore the end :) I'm definitely looking forward to read the next book in the series.
  • Monasco: The Last Kappolarian (Book II) on May 30, 2013
    star star star star star
I love this series! This story is even more action packed than the first, and the characters are so well written that I cheered and suffered with and feared for them. I love the descriptive style, with which the author manages to make the characters and scenes come alive and draws you into this post-apocalyptic world.
  • Forged in Blood I (The Emperor's Edge Book 6) on July 14, 2013
    star star star star star
This is definitely one of the best series I've ever read, and it saddens me that it will be over soon. Lindsay's excellent writing and her great sense of humour, of course, show in her other books as well, but I've come to love the characters of this series so much - I will truly miss them.
  • Forged in Blood II (The Emperor's Edge 7, Final Book) on July 23, 2013
    star star star star star
The conclusion of this series was very well done, although I wish the end wouldn't have been so bitter-sweet. I will miss the characters, and I hope we will see them again in another series.

What a cute story! It's amazing that it was written by a child. Kylie's profile also touched me very much. Thank you, Mrs Reynolds, for sharing your daughter's stories!
  • Trekking To The Sunset on Aug. 01, 2013
    star star star star star
Amazing that this story was written by an 8-year-old girl! To me as a German it was very interesting to read about Kylie's adventure. Here, something like this would be impossible - so much so that it would be unbelievable, even in a fiction story, if it played in Germany. It must have been wonderful for Kylie to have lived such a free life. Thank you, Mrs Reynolds, for sharing your daughter's stories!
  • A Bunch of Battlers on Aug. 01, 2013

What a touching story! I can't get over the fact that it was written by a child. Amazing! I do have a special love for Australia, and to me, as a German, Kylie's stories are especially precious. Thank you, Mrs Reynolds for sharing your daughter's stories.

This book should be in every library, and people should buy it for their kids and children they know. It is a great way to spread the idea of Jacque Fresco's wonderful Venus Project! I so much hope that I will live to see the world changing into a money-free, resource-based economy.
  • Balanced on the Blade's Edge on March 31, 2014
    star star star star star
Although I'm not that fond of romance novels, I knew, after reading the first chapter, that I would like this story. Lindsay's skill of drawing the reader into the story with the humorous portrayal of her characters and a story so action packed that it is excruciatingly hard to stop reading even for unavoidable breaks never ceases to amaze me!
