UCS PRESS

Publisher info

Jim & Marti Dobkins launched UCS PRESS in 1987 with release of Dr. Larry Waldman's child-raising classic, Who's Raising Whom?, now in its sixth printing. Jim has authored and co-authored twelve published books, including Winnie Ruth Judd: The Trunk Murders, nominated for Crime Book of the Year and a Doubleday Bargain Book Club bestseller during a month in which over 60,000 units of the print edition were sold. His personal books, collectively, have generated eleven film options. He conceptualized and scripted the documentary short, Someone Who Cares, that was in Oscar competition.

He is one of three lead writers at www.ghostwritersus.com. Samples of his writings, as well as those of Jim Porter and Sam DiGiovanni, can be viewed at that web site. A film producer in 2016 advised Jim to consider writing film script-to-novel adaptations. Launching Ghostwriters U.S. is a step in that direction.

Jim's True Crime script The Next Victim, inspired by the book My boss was the BTK killer by Mary Capps with Jim Dobkins, is being considered by multiple producers.
